“Back once more”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

We enjoyed New Year's Eve here so much we arranged to come back in May. An upgrade gave us an Executive Suite, which seems quite a bit bigger, with the addition of a capacious table for meeting or dining. (But, peculiarly, the bathroom has only a shower---no tub.) The immediate location is pretty peaceful, even though a busy boulevard is close by. Cooked-to-order breakfast was up to Embassy Suites standards--which are high--as was the manager's reception (happy hour), which featured some tasty nibbles and a good selection of drinks, including a pitcher of Sangrias.
One might complain about the rather confusing layout of the lobby and a wing of meeting rooms, in a labyrinth in which the public toilets were hard to find.

“Nice Place, Perplexing Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

Stayed here on a Friday night in April on our way to the Outer Banks. Very conveniently located just off I-64 on the west side of town. Very well maintained, clean and attractive. The suites are large, nicely furnished and comfortable. Plenty of parking just outside the main entrance to the building. Both a TGI Friday's and an Olive Garden are a very short walk away. Price includes complimentary cocktails at 5:30 as well as breakfast.

Only one little glitch, and I don't mean to overstate this, but management has decided to remove bacon and sausage from the buffet table. Instead, these items are doled out by the same chef who prepares the omelets, so you have to stand in another line if you want bacon or sausage. If that weren't exasperating enough, you are standing in line behind people who are waiting for omelets, so the line doesn't move very fast. After at least 5 minutes, I just gave up. And, of course, by then, the rest of my breakfast was no longer hot. Arrrrrgggghhh!

Dear Valued Guest, We are glad you were able to stay at our Embassy Suites Richmond Hotel and found our location to be convenient and a great value having the extra room of our suites with breakfast and our evening reception. Our breakfast area can be a popular place, our apologies you had to wait. You will be happy to know you can select bacon and sausage from the buffet line should you visit in the future. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope you will return if your travels bring you back to the Richmond area. Kind Regards, Kathleen Lyons, General Manager

“Great place for a Conference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

We had 6 people staying in one room. I slept on the sofa bed and even that was comfortable. I was surprised I selpt all night. The bathroom was smaller than normal but had other places to do other things. One side had a sink with mirror and the other side with livingroom had a wet bar. The made to order breakfast was great and the evening they had snacks with drinks (including beer, soda and mixed drinks. The meeting rooms were great the chairs were very comfortable and they always had food/snacks out all day long. The lunch they made for us was wonderful. They had a indoor pool and hot tub with a work out room. I didn't get to them during my stay.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th floor near the elevators. Room 812 When we first went in it smelled musty. It wa...

“Pretty Much Your Typical Embassy Suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

Pretty much your typical Embassy Suites and that is a good thing. If you have ever been to one, you know pretty much exactly what you are getting. What you get, honestly, is a lot for the money. The suite was great, breakfast was great and they have the free happy (2) hour in the evening, which we didnt make either night, so I cant comment on it. I did notice, like a few other recent viewers, some wear and need of a facelift in spots but all in all... very good.

“Such a nice, welcoming hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

I've stayed here several times and it is always a pleasure. The Embassy is on West Broad Street, about 7 minutes from the popular Short Pump shopping area, and is also convenient for business travelers, as many corporate offices are nearby. The front desk is always very welcoming and they greeted me by name every time I entered the lobby. It is an older hotel, but it is well kept up and the atrium is beautiful! It is completely filled with REAL plants and trees. My daughter and her friends thought it was a wonderland. The rooms are huge, with a separate living room with a door between the two rooms. Yes, the furniture is a little older, but they keep everything very clean and repaired. I've even had conversations with a gentleman who is apparently the inspector/head of house staff and he is extremely consciencious. It's convenient that there's an IHOP and a K-mart across the street, even though they do provide a nice breakfast in their beautiful atrium.
