Upon arrival at the above location, I should have known this location would be a dump by the lobby's appearance. The first room I was assigned I had to carry my own luggage upstairs. One look at this room and I went back to the lobby and request another room. I was assigned a room near the pool. Finding the bathroom filthy and the beds appeared not to have been made (can't say they are even cleaned after guest leave). Room was a non-smoking room but reeked of cigarettes and room was musty. After arriving from the airport, I was looking forward for a nice hot bath, but no way was I taking a bath in that tub. I cringe just thinking about it. Chairs and rugs were filthy, I was afraid I would have to sleep in the beds but decided to leave and go to another hotel. So don't think I will recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, ever. Come on Ramada, renovate, renovate, renovate. Forget the pictures on the website, completely misleading. This is one time I got what I paid for.

Kudos to "leckaroo" for expressing my sentiments on this Ramada! Their sense of humor's better than mine about the grimey room conditions. Coincidentally, we were also a door away from that smashed in room unit (a gal drove her car into it trying to park). No funky mirror above the bed in our unit. If Richmond has Board of Health inspections, they missed the lower rooms nearest the pool! Cockroach floated in our beverage glass during the night....no bare foot walking--socks or shoes stayed on feet to avoid direct contact with the overall soiled carpeting. Window drapes were badly worn and little was dust-free but the t.v....whoever cleaned the sink and bathroom left body hairs in both...we invited the night manager to come visit our room, but she didn't oblige, just apologized no other room was available to switch to. It was too late at night after a long drive to check-out and look for better lodgings....NASCAR guests were plentiful throughout Richmond & we got taken royally to the tune of $100+ for that night of nonsense. Our suitcases (clothes) stayed safely in the car rather than a bureau drawer. Checked out at dawn & found a pricey but decent hotel elsewhere...will not trust the Ramada name again.

the pictures looked really nice as well as the price. i asked for a downstairs/close to door/or elevtor because my husband has a very difficult time walking. i reserved a king bed. the front desk clerk was wonderful the room was not king but two beds ok. the room was on the other side of the parking lot,was told they only had five king bed smokings and they were already taken but that is what i reserved. the elevator closest to our room did not work so up the stairs to get ice. only saw/heard housekeeper one time the week we stayed there. the heater/ac did not work real well either froze or burned up. advised internet but was changing providers so it would be two more weeeks before it would be up(however i did get directions to a coffee shop that had wireless but coffee shop was not there) the only reason we stayed was my husband was not feeling well and he slept. i filed a complant with customer service but nothing .be realcareful if you stay there it is not what the website says except the lobby. did not eat breakfast. we were at one end of the motel and the lobby was at the other end.

We were in town for the Nascar race and this was the only place with available rooms so we didn't have a choice - we had to stay here. We had a feeling it would be a dump but it exceeded all of our expectations. This place is just plain gross. I really don't think they have a cleaning staff and if they do they are getting paid for doing nothing. The rooms were dirty all over, furniture is falling apart, dead flies and ants are everywhere, cigarette burns on the bedding and furniture, broken lamps, and the bathroom was so filthy and moldy I preferred holding it and using the restroom at the brunch place we visited the following morning.

However, I must commend the staff for the "classy" touches we encountered. The purple mirror hanging on the ceiling above our bed was a first experience for us and the smashed-in door and window in the room next to ours had us up all night wondering what went down at the hotel prior to our arrival. Oh yes, we have photos of these jems! We had plenty of laughes and I guess it's fine if you need a quick place to crash for a night. But this is not a place for a family vacation! If this is what you're planning I recommend avoiding it like the plague. This place needs to be bulldozed to the ground!
