We spent the weekend at this elegant hotel for a family wedding. It was quite evident why The Jefferson earned its "Luxury" designation. No detail of welcoming or comfort was missed. The architecture is breathtaking. When we arrived at checkout, High Tea was being served. The fine china settings, inviting pastry tower, and exquisite music played skillfully on a harp left a magical first impression! The staff was first-rate; so warm and welcoming. The room could not have been more comfortable. The lovely touches...such as returning in the evening with the beds turned down, lush robes ready, and soft, relaxing music playing....were but one of the many elegant, inviting gestures to make guests feel pampered. The pool was the absolute perfect temperature. Great amenities!

Room Tip: The suites were absolutely lovely! Very continental .... EVERYTHING designed for comfort within the...

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel in mid-August. We checked in in the afternoon and were greeted warmly, our room ready and waiting. Staff was engaging, welcoming and professional. The lobby is very grand, and the furnishings lovely ~ this is Old Southern Grandeur at it's best. Our room was spacious, very quiet, the beds comfy, lovely crisp linens. The only negative was that the room had an odor of your great-grandmother's parlor ~ they had apparently sprayed some kind of scent or air freshener which was not very pleasant. Our rate included a full breakfast in the morning, which was delicious, service impeccable. The price was very reasonable for the experience of staying at the Grand Dame of Richmond. I would never stay anywhere else when visiting my granddaughter at school. Highly recommend. Oh ~ be sure to visit the gift shop and also ask about the alligators!

This is one of my all-time favourite hotels. We've only stayed twice (we live on the other side of the pond), and at the end of long road-trips, but the welcome and service you get at this hotel are just so exceptional that you have to visit again.
The staff everywhere in the hotel are outstanding in their attitude to, and delivery of, customer service.
Since we last visited a few years ago the suites have even been refreshed - faultless except for the slightly iffy area where the hotel is located, restricting walking opportunities after dark.

The Jefferson is to Richmond what the Drake is to Chicago and the Mayflower or Willard is in D.C. It is old-school glamor with modern comfort. A great place. These wonderful icons which have lasted and have been kept beautiful are treasures. Eat early and save a bundle.

Thank you for your review and for mentioning our "3 for $30" tasting menu in Lemaire Restaurant. It is a great value and available year round from 5-6pm daily. We hope you will return again soon.

Whenever you are in the Richmond, Virginia area this is the finest hotel. Vintage hotels are like the Plaza in NYC or the Savoy in London. They have an enduring style and comfortable accommodations. Everything in The Jefferson says comfort and class. Be sure to enjoy the full breakfast in the restaurant. Just perfect Southern hospitality.

Stopped here for a respite from a Florida to New Jersey drive. Check in at two in the morning was friendly and welcoming after the convenient self-parking. Stayed in one of the newly renovated small suites with traditional furnishings but a bathroom with all of the modern conveniences and more including a television /mirror. Climate control was excellent, beds comfortable and room service breakfast was delicious. This is a first class hotel in the four to five star range and would definitely stay again if travel brought me to Richmond.

Room Tip: Until all of the rooms are renovated, splurge for the new rooms to get the ultimate Jefferson experi...
