“Beautiful Gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

Beautiful gardens, easy to walk, with benches through the area so you can rest if you want. We were there in mid-April, so just past the peak of the daffodils, at the height of the tulips, and before the azaleas came into bloom. This would be a good place to visit at any time of the year.

“Gorgeous and a great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

My visit was 4/19/14, and I was so pleased at the condition of the grounds and the beautiful spring flowers in unique displays. Spring can be a tough time in gardens with unpredictable weather, so it was good to see how well cared for and thought-out everything was. The orchids (kept inside) were remarkable. The serenity garden was lovely. You could bring children to their own area if you like.

“Lovely gardens; nice tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

The gardens are beautiful and inexpensive (and even more so with a military discount!) We had a great tour guide in Barbara for one of the garden strolls, which I recommend. We had a lovely afternoon at the gardens!

“Brits Abroad..... Gardeners world! :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

Really liked this large Botanical Garden on the northern edges of Richmond. Interesting plants in varied, neat plantings. A large conservatory with lovely orchids.

We really liked both the formal and woodland areas and though there was construction work going on in part of the garden it wasn't a major factor affecting our enjoyment.

As the day got warmer we found a cool spot to sit and enjoyed the breeze.

As Brits we hoped the Tea House might do..... Ummm... Tea. It seemed to be closed but we coped, being well used to the lack of proper tea.

Great place to go... If you're a gardener it is really interesting. Thanks to staff and volunteers here for their hard work. This is a not-for-profit and deserves your support.
