Capo Testa well worth a stroll - bring your swimmers - and enjoy the scenery and wierd rock formations.
Local 'nuraghic' monuments worth a morning's exploration,
and don't overlook a pleasant stroll around Santa Teresa itself.
Sassari was a pleasant drive (don't miss the well sign-posted Elephant Rock en route) but whilst the old centre was well worth a look round we wouldn't recommend a visit other than by car if you've hired one and are looking to make most use of it.
We also took car over to Corsica for the day (quite pricey €118 for car and two passengers) - nice looking island that's now on our places to visit list! - and visited Ajaccio but Bonifacio will keep you well occupied if you restrict yourself to a foot-passenger only ticket.
A final observation is that unlike Sicily (and on the face of it rather surprisingly) there's rather a shortage of sights and sites to visit. It's an area to be enjoyed more for its beaches.
