“The white house of Texas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Tour of the white house itself was interesting, and a good deal for $2. It was interesting to see some of the furnishings and items they actually used, and to learn that he spent over 500 days of his presidency there. The ranch is still a running ranch with a runway running right through it.

“A great and positive experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

The NPS and Texas Parks do a great job with the Visitors Center in Johnson City and at LBJ park, the settlement, and the historic sites.
The tour of LBJ Western Whitehouse was exceptionally done by Ranger Bryant. We spent the entire day at all the historic sites, and still did not read and see everything in all the exhibit centers.

A very positive experience. The self-guided ranch tour with the CD narrative is free. The Whitehouse tour was $2, very reasonable and well worth the fee.

As a Veteran of the Vietnam War, LBJ's politics and policies were not mine; however the focus of the Park is on LBJ the man, family, etc. Of course it covered the issues of the time, but the historical aspects of the site far outweighs the politics. We will return.
Great Job NPS and Texas

“The best attraction of my week in Texas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

I recently spent a week between Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. This was, without a doubt, the highlight of my trip. It took about 2 hours to get there but was well worth the drive. We were given a CD to use as a guided auto tour through the grounds with many stops along the way. While in the "Texas White House" residence you can just picture LBJ entertaining visiting politicians and convincing them to agree with his points of view. I came away with a much better appreciation for a President that was shaped by his upbringing and was instrumental in instituting many lasting social programs yet is remembered more for his role in the Vietnam war.

“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

This park is phenomenal. It is a must see. So much history took place on this property, it makes you want to learn more about LBJ. The acreage is all beautiful, the cemetery very peaceful - brings a tear to your eye. You get an audio CD for the car which works out perfect. You can take your time touring the grounds so you don't miss a thing. The Texas White House is just as interesting and all the docents throughout the house tour were very informative and professional. Again, this is a must if ever visiting the area.
