We've been to PFSP many times, but my husband and I have recently gotten into bird photography. So, we made a trip just to visit the bird blind here to see if we could get pictures of some different birds from what we have on the coast.
We were very impressed with the quality of this bird blind, and the obvious care the park employees and their volunteers took to keep this place in excellent condition. I took over 500 pictures during my visit this weekend, including birds such as Western Scrub Jays, Ladder Backed Woodpeckers, Northern Cardinals of course, Lesser Goldfinches, and several others. We were so excited!
In the blind with us was a man named Dan who was very knowledgeable about birds. He helped us identify them and gave us suggestions about other birding locations. I think the Park paid him to hang out there and share his expertise. It was appreciated.
We'll be coming back in a few months to see the spring and summer birds at the blind. Thanks to the Park for building and maintaining this special place.
