“Beautiful location- an elegant little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here to enjoy the nearby beaches and it was really pretty perfect. We took one of the more expensive rooms in order to have a bath in the bathroom and a view. The rooftop restaurant was lovely and the breakfast served there was good. The bar was in a perfect location above the beach and felt very chic. The staff were friendly and all in all we enjoyed our stay there. We would definitely go back.

The hotel overlooks the harbour at Cala Gonone. The rooms are clean, but a little on the small size. It is worth paying extra to have a room with a sea view. The breakfast room overlooked the harbour and the beach. The staff were all very friendly.

My husband and I enjoyed everything about our stay at Bue Marino, from the beautiful sea view to the rooftop restaurant. We got what we expected from the room, and more--comfortable conditions, a great little terrace, and an air conditioner that kept us cool when the weather outside was balmy.

If you're looking for over-the-top service, lovely food, and a wonderful atmosphere for your stay in Cala Gonone, this is the place to book! The hotel owner and the desk staff couldn't have been more accommodating (their impeccable English was a treat!) and the outdoor bar across the street, which served snacks during happy hour, was one of our favorite places to relax after a trek and before dinner. A quick walk to Il Pescatore restaurant for lunch or dinner, and you're in for a perfect vacation! And when you want to take in the views, dine on the fourth floor in the hotel restaurant for delicious local food with a full view of town and the coastline.

Room Tip: Choose the second or third floors for the best views.

My husband and I stayed at Bue Marino for 2 nights in early July 2012. The location of the hotel couldn't be better! The rooms themselves were modest yet clean. Despite the location, in town, the hotel was quiet. But like I stated before, the location of the hotel makes up for the lack of luxury. Bue Marino is situated near the local beach, next to the marina, and surrounded by delicious restaurants. You are able to walk to everything you need. Breakfast was standard, but the view at breakfast on the 4th floor is reason enough to wake up early and enjoy the water. The staff was cordial and very helpful. I recommend eating at the restaurant next to the hotel. The owner, Paola, is very talkative and full of great information!

Room Tip: There is only one elevator so I would recommend staying on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

Firstly, this is hotel is in a beatiful location and Cala Gonone is a fantastic place to say. The breakfast room on the top floor has views to die for. Anyway i suppose the reason i am writing this review is to make sure you dont end up paying top dollar for the bottom floor. When i walked into the reception of the hotel i was thinking " yeah this is great " when i walked into my room i thought "emm not great " It was very small but clean and had had a very small window overlooking a car park. The price was 65 euro in May. Make sure you stay on any other floor as they have bigger rooms and a balcony. If money is an issue just stay somewhere else the bottom floor roooms just arent worth it. And just a tip - Make sure you hire your own speed boat across the road for 80 euro!!

Room Tip: Not on the bottom floor!

We drove into Cala Gonone looking for a little comfort and found it at this great hotel. We did check out a few others, including one further up with supposedly great views (it was all blue sea, nothing to watch) and breezy with the height, so too cold for the pool.
Our room had a terrace over the bar where we sat and watched the swimmers on the very nice beach, we walked along it but it wasn't hot enough for us to be tempted in! There are heaps of boat trips go out from here and parking across from the hotel (we parked right in front of the hotel but we were lucky) which is free off season. It was relaxing sitting in the waterfront bar, which had a private parking area for motorbikes! They are big business here. Spotted a few signs offering reductions etc for bikies on the island. Oh, and Sardinia certainly wasn't expensive in May. I notice on the net a lot of mentions it is expensive, it wasn't on our trip.

Room Tip: In the peak season I'd say forfit the view (you can have that at breakfast or in the bar) and as...
