“Magical, authentic and fabulously homely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

How many places can you stay in and say, even though the weather out of season isn't designed for a destination like this, we had a heavenly break. It was cold, but Su Dandaru was so cosy and such a lovely place to just unwind, that we could've stayed 10 rather than 5 days.
The beds were divinely comfy and the rooms, including the sitting room and lovely roof terrace were lovely places to relax in.
Bosa itself, even out of season was a charming place to be, and heading 'out' for a late breakfast every morning at the Taverna just added to the charm of the whole Sardinian experience.
My son and I will definitely be back for warmer times and I rarely go back to the same place twice!
Thank you Simonetta for refurbishing this lovely house SO beautifully.

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to see all of the rooms. It's a quiet cobbled street, so all rooms are quie...

In February I spent a few days at Su Dandaru with my boyfriend and we were very happy. The B&B was originally a typical local house renovated with extreme love for the details. The owner, Gaetano, speaks English and aimed to offer a good service and high quality to his guests. Gaetano was so kind and took the time to show to us the whole B&B with its cozy rooms, the large open space at the top of the building where you can chill out, read a book or enjoy a tea. From there you can reach the terrace and enjoy a wonderful view on Bosa’s castle F.I. while drinking a glass of wine during sun set. All rooms are very clean and equipped with a dedicated bathroom, a small fridge and a TV. They are warm in the winter and thank to their thick walls, I presume they are fresh in the summer. Furniture, floor, everything recall an old-times, typical atmosphere. Su Dandaru is the right place for travelers searching for something more than a place to sleep and I’d recommend it anytime.

We chose to stay at Su Dandaru in Bosa for this year's carnival after finding it was recommended on Alistair Sawday's Special Places to Stay, and it really was a special place to stay. It was very welcoming, comfortable and the ideal & convenient location. in the town. We stayed in the Terra room, which was warm, cosy, and lovely to come back to in the evenings. We were able to have breakfast every morning at the local cafe at anytime we chose which was great, so no worries about getting up early or missing breakfast! The owners were very friendly, accommodating and informative. The festival was fun and a definite "must see." Our first time in Bosa, a beautiful town, full of culture, beautiful scenery, historic buildings and friendly locals. We will definitely be returning!

Room Tip: There is a family room on the second floor, called Fiume. Terra was definitely for a romantic week e...

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon which included 3 nights in Bosa at Su Dandaru in the Terra Room. What can I say other than that it was perfect! This amazing little holiday rental was nestled in the old part of Bosa - a great location for walking to restaurants the the beach. The room was so lovely - we didn't want to leave! It was impeccably clean and spacious and the bathroom was great. So many little touches went in to the decor - it was such a nice treat! Giacommo was wonderful and met us in the town to take us to Su Dandaru. He was very helpful and reliable. Breakfast was simple and lovely at a little cafe around the corner. The rooftop terrace was beautiful and offers great views of the town.

Thank you Simonetta and Giacommo! We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Terra Room is lovely for a couple. Comfortable, quiet and on the first floor!

We stayed four nights in this delightful bed and breakfast accommodation in Bosa. Giacommo, the owner, could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is taken at a small bar around the corner from the b&b so there is an early morning opportunity to observe the locals. The air conditioning struggled a bit with the incredibly high temperatures in Bosa that week - mostly mid thirties. We spent much of our time on the lovely roof terrace overlooking the town as it was just too hot to move. The small kitchen which is available is great for preparing light lunches and the fridge for cool drinks was essential.

Room Tip: We chose Fiume on the second floor, the flight of steps might be a bit tricky for anyone who is not...

Su Dandaru is set right in the middle of old Bosa, and is a wonderful place to relax, and get away from it all. the bedrooms are very cool, and warmly furnished and decorated with lovely ensuite facilities. it is spread over 5 floors, including the kitchen and sitting area, and roof terrace with a wonderful rooftop view of the town. Both Simonetta and Giovanne are very warm and welcoming, in what was the middle of a huge thunderstorm, and their restaurant recommendations were all excellent. One of the great treats is having breakfast at a local cafe, at a time to suit yourself, at any time in the morning. Mangiaimbuto Vineria was lovely informal dining tucked away in a small piazza, Verde Fiume along side the river was slight more upmarket, but equally relaxed, and Borg Sant'Ignazio was traditional Sardinian cooking at its best. If you visit Algerho, then it would be a must to prebook a days sailing with Andrea Jensen, for a unique and wonderful experience on a 70 year old Danish fishing ketch, followed by steak and chips at Sartorial del Gusto. If you go down to Oristano do not miss Trattoria Gino with sage and ricotta ravioli to die for. We shall return for a long weekend!

Su Dandaru is as lovely as it was a couple of years ago, when we first stayed there. It was lovely to go back, and be welcomed as old friends. We visited for a long week end and were able to relax and enjoy wandering around the Centro Storico once again. The weather was sunny but not hot, so we sat out on the terrace one evening, enjoying the stunning view of the castle and surrounding roof tops. What we really enjoy about Su Dandaru is that one is left in peace to enjoy a private holiday, not having to worry about getting to breakfast on time, or constantly chatting and making polite conversation. We recommend Su Dandaru to anybody wanting a quiet week end away in Sardinia.
