I spent a very nice few days in Trani at Albergo Lucy. It was the off season so they were doing upkeep on the property and it was apparant that the owners are quite good at caring for their guests and are concerned for their comfort and to facilitate their enjoyment of the area. There is wireless internet throughout the albergo and the shower has great water pressure. The location could not be better. It is near the waterfront so it is quite convenient to see what's happening at different times of the day. I would definitely stay there again.

I loved my stay at this hotel. In a beautiful old building next to a lovely park along the sea, it had the feel that you expect from a stay in a small Italian town.

My room overlooked the square to a beautiful church and I could watch the activity down below and the boats in the harbor.

The rooms have a spare and simple elegance with high ceilings. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. I would return again and again. I can't imagine a better setting elsewhere in this town. I booked my room directly over email, asked questions and was given very quick responses.

Some reviews are curious to me. A hotel either offers breakfast or it does not, and its website will say so. Only one place I stayed in Italy served breakfast and I knew this in advance. Italy is loud and people stay out late talking in squares. Floors are cold ceramic tile, the towels leave something to be desired and almost no hotel offers A/C unless you pay extra.

If you want to stay in an overpriced 'hostel' stay at this hotel or take your 95 euro a night and stay somewhere nice.

Location is picturesque but the staff are unhelpful and rude.


NOISE unbearable (the stret noise is bad enough but the alarm from the prison across the road is ridiculous).
No Breakfast.
Rooms not cleaned properly including not changing the sheets frequently and putting dirty discarded towels back on the rack.
Decoration is cheap and nasty - plastic leaves shoved in a vase(dusty) make a certain statement about the attitude of the owners. The rooms feel very Ireland circa 1972.

and to top it all off there was a huge festival that ran for 3 nights with a burger van parked right outside blasting really load music - we were refused any refund so we could move to a quieter hotel, no one appologised and when we complained they told us to go to the police and the Mayor - they had the cheek to complain to us that they couldn't get any sleep. Funnily enough the kebab truck was hooked up to their electricity supply.
Trani is good for a short stay - but stay somewhere else.
This review is an oppinion and other tavelers may disagree - however I have stayed in all kinds of accomodadtion around europe in all price ranges and this was the worst experience of RIP OFF I have had.

Superb setting but in a rough end of town - was even advised by the hotel owner to park our hire car near the harbour master's booth in case of vandalism/being knocked off!! - pity the toilet in our room was not as quiet as the sea breeze - every time we flushed the toilet it sounded like a grand stand view of the space shuttle taking off - would not recommend this place to anyone other than a backpacker having nowhere else to stay for the night - 1 star at best.
