“Great Staff - Nice Rooms - Good Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

We booked this room through a third party and got a great price and still received beyond great service. When we first arrived we were told that an early check in was absolutely not an option and were very disappointed since we had events that evening that would mean we wouldn't be able to check in until after midnight. As it turned out they staff put in extra effort and were able to get us into a very nice room. Ralph is exceptionally friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable: offering local dining (in or out) suggestions, transportation options etc. Our room was recently renovated, modern (not necessarily my aesthetic) but very smartly designed. Lots of outlets, a rare find in most hotel rooms. Our room had a separate bedroom with a Queen bed and separate television and a small lounge area with a pull out sofa bed, television, mini fridge and microwave. Comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel is very close to the T, just a couple of blocks down the street. The public transportation system is fairly easy to navigate in Boston but we did find that it was a little more time consuming coming back late at night. Also near the hotel, within walking distance there is a shopping plaza with a grocery store, package store, McDonalds, Marshall's and a drug store. Very convenient. Breakfast was included, typical of HIE, eggs, sausage, potatoes, bread/pastry, fruit, cereal etc. Of course the traditional HIE cinnamon rolls too. On our last evening there we ordered in and the hotel provided a nice list of places that would deliver. The list even included staff recommendations and was well rounded: Pizza, Sandwiches, Italian, Chinese, Thai etc. The place we chose from the list (and I can't recall the name) was fantastic, great food, great prices, quick delivery. Internet was included and worked without a hitch. The one suggestion I would have for the Management is to have the elevator inspected soon....the inspection expired a year ago and though it seemed perfectly safe it was odd that the numbers didn't go above 6 even when getting off on the 7th & 8th floors.

Just finished checking out of this hotel. Remodeled clean rooms, friendly staff, close to the "T" the subway and just right down the road from the TD Garden(s). The beds are great. Don't worry about the silly stuff like "gaps around the doorways that let in light", this is Boston, all the buildings are older and therefore not perfect. The only advice that has nothing to do with this hotel is if you ask for a taxi cab, ask for one that has a meter. We found out the hard way that the taxi's that don't have meters, though legal, charge you double the rate. I frequent Boston so enough said..

We are very happy that you enjoyed staying with us earlier this month and that you found our renovated rooms to be very comfortable. Our location is also perfect as we are so close to the "T" and everything to see in Cambridge and Boston! We look forward to your next visit and thank you for your comments.

Our family was in Boston for a graduation ceremony at the TD Garden. We had reward points and booked this reward stay based on the reviews we had read. We had a bad experiece with a Holiday Inn Express in Baltimore - and hoped to not have a repeat experience. We were VERY pleasantly suprised! The hotel was updated and modern. The staff was accomodating, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were comfy. We had no problems with noise inside (or out) of the hotel. The morning breakfast was hearty enough to satisfy our 20 year son - and had enough variety to make all of us happy (thought that the pancake machine was very cool). It is a close walk to the T station - and it is just a lovely neighborhood if you take a walk. We found 2 local restaurants were we had some great (casual) food.

We would absolutely stay here again - a very safe bet if you are looking for a hotel in this area at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th (top) floor. It was very quiet.

We stayed here last night since we went to the TD Garden for a concert. Why we picked this hotel is because it's very close to the T station. Once you get onto the T it's easy to travel around Boston. Boston can be pricy to stay in but we felt that this hotel was a good value. The rooms are updated (beds are wicked comfy) and a fridge and flat screen TV in the room. The hotel also serves a good breakfast in the morning, oh and FREE wi fi and free parking which is always a plus. There is also a 24 hour dunkin donuts right up the road which is open 24 hours (nice to know because we went there after the concert).

This seemed like a great place at first. The facilities are clean and modern, which made a great first impression. However, as someone who travels a lot and rarely has issues sleeping, I did not sleep well here.

The gaps around the doorways are huge, which in the evening let in a lot of hallway light as well as noise. Worse, there really is not way to blackout the morning sunlight using the window furnishings.

Breakfast was ok. Location is a little over half a mile from the Lechmere T station, which is at the end of the green line. There is a grocery store about half a mile away. A number of restaurants are within walking distance, as well as the Cambridge Galleria.

We booked this accommodation through hotwire and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel is only a short walk to the closest T station and the metro is very cheap and very easy to use - great public service! We contacted the hotel prior to our arrival as we were holidaying in the USA for our honeymoon. We were upgraded free of charge to a king room which had been recently renovated. The amenities were very nice and clean. Ralph, on the front desk was very helpful and always cheerful. He also organised a beautiful cake which was delivered to our room on arrival. A memorable and welcomming touch. The accommodation was very comfortable and also included a free breakfast. Great value for money.

We found our room to be comfortable. We had a suite with a separate room with a queen bed. The other room had a sleeper sofa. The queen bed was very comfortable but the sleeper sofa was pretty much what you would expect. We had a a very small "kitchenette" with a sink, refrigerator, and coffee maker with cabinet space. The bathroom was spacious and had a large sink area. The room was clean.

We were about 2 blocks from a T stop so made getting into Boston easy. Was not easy to get around Cambridge unless you drove or took a taxi. We gave up on waiting on a taxi. We were told that once we called it would take 10-15 minutes for a taxi to arrive. We waited more than 30 minutes and finally drove. You could take the T to the Harvard area, but would have to go into Boston and transfer to another line.

Very easy to get to the hotel off of the freeway and very easy access to the airport (only about 10 minutes away).

Breakfast was basic, but plenty of items. Had a very interesting pancake maker, with decent pancakes. Did not have coffee or hot water available at other times of the day.
