“Exceptional Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

This hotel was a highlight of our recent trip back east. The room was lovely. The staff was exceedingly gracious. The location was very convenient and despite the nearby road construction we heard no noise on the 5th floor. I dinged the location slightly, because construction makes travel by car to the airport inconvenient. If you aren't headed to Logan, you're probably fine.

I want to highlight how kind the staff at the wine reception was to our 4yo daughter. She had a wonderful time taking salsa lessons, everyone went out of their way to be sweet to her, and we appreciated that immensely.

Stayed for a weekend and am impressed. Rates were reasonable. I arrived on a redeye and was able to check in a bit early, which was appreciated.

The lobby is attractive with a nice living room to sit in with complimentary coffee and beverages. The room was a little on the small side and faced the interior courtyard. It was very quiet at night. The decor is a little eccentric and heavy on the fur and animal prints but not as garish in person as it appears in pictures. The bed was extremely comfortable with Frette linens and a nice down featherbed atop the mattress. It felt like sleeping in a cloud. The room was immaculate and odorless. The bathroom had very little counter space but was adequate for one person. Animal print robes are provided.

Amenities include Etro toiletries and a lot of thoughtful touches like an umbrella in the closet and a wide variety of things from hair curlers to phone chargers that can be requested.

I ordered room service breakfast which was good, delivered punctually, and not unreasonable value.

Location is good, in Kendall Square in Cambridge. It is adjacent to and connected to the Cambridgeside Galleria Mall, which offers shopping and dining options. It is walking distance to the green line and red line.

Parking is $20 per night self parking, with in and out privileges.

Overall an excellent stay - will be my go to hotel next time I'm in Boston.

We stayed in the Marlowe for 4 nights - 2 nights at the beginning of our tour of New England and 2 nights at the end.

Both rooms were spotlessly clean, well decorated and remarkably quiet for a city hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms and bedroom a really good size.

The service from the reception staff was excellent - helpful and friendly in a way that provides a good first and last impression. The hotel offers complimentary wine in the early evening and if you miss it they are always happy to give you a voucher for a free glass of wine in the restaurant. Complimentary coffee is available in the mornings and cucumber or lemon infused water is available during day and evening. The hotel will also provide a coffee machine in your room if you ask.

This was our 2nd trip to the Hotel Marlowe, first one in 2010. As before, the staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Highlights included kayaking in the Charles River (free of charge!), and a surprise upgrade to the Presidential Suite. Conveniently located near the Science Museum, and a mall which enables inexpensive dining options, we a had a wonderful weekend. Hope to return soon...

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel on a Friday night to attend a sporting event at the TD BankNorth Garden in Boston. We chose this hotel for close proximity to the Garden and we were happy with the choice and very happy with the hotel. We got to the hotel around 6:30 and had missed the wine reception but the very nice lady at the front desk gave us wine vouchers to use at the restaurant. Check-in took less than 5 minutes which was great since we were in a hurry to get to the game. The room we stayed in had a king bed, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable! The water pressure wasn't great in the shower but other than that we were very happy with the room. The hotel is right next door to the Cambridgeside Galleria and walking distance to the Lechemere T stop which is on the Green Line and takes you right to North Station (and downtown).

Great location, helpful friendly staff, lovely rooms. One of the best small hotels. I visit Boston regularly and always try to stay at the Marlowe where I am welcomed back each time. The level of attention and customer service is amazing, as is the management's response to problems and suggestions.

This hotel is situated in a very convenient location , close to MIT and the mall in Cambridge. Not sure about their "pet friendly" policy as it left me wondering how many pets had stayed in our room and how well they are cleaned after every guest...
