“Love it. Love it”

Kendall Hotel

Jun 18, 2008

My brother and I stayed at this hotel while in town for medical visits at Harvard. This is the most convenient hotel ever and everyone is very accomodating. It is so easy to jump on the "T" and travel around Boston and super simple to and from the airport as well. There are several restaurants in the area and a short walk to the local mall is easy. The atmosphere is very "homey" and comfortable. The entire neighborhood is very quiet and feels small even though it is in a big city. After long days at the hospital it was nice to return somewhere that felt like a home. The breakfast is really good and there is so much attention to detail-right down to the cloth napkins. Staying at the Kendall made the trip to Boston a total pleasure. We are returning next week to Boston and will be back at the Kendall. Love it, Love it, Love it.

“Wonderful hotel!!”

Kendall Hotel

Jun 13, 2008

I had a great stay at this hotel! My room lovely but was on the small side. It was fine because I was a solo traveler though. The website photos are acurate as I glanced into a few rooms other than my own while walking by in the hallway. The breakfast was fabulous! The best pancakes and granola I have had in a long time! I came in contact with many staff members during my stay and everyone was very helpful.

There was only one front desk person who was a little less than helpful (nice- just a bit abrupt and distracted) however, I didn't let it tarnish my stay. I also asked for a hard copy of my bill as did a previous poster. I was politely told that I had been emailed one however, he would give me another anyway.

This hotel is unique, a little quirky and a wonderful place to stay! I would certainly stay here again!

this is a great little place with a great little restaurant, one of my faves when I stay in Boston. It's right on the Red Line T so easy to get around, but it's not really in nightlife area...that you'll have to walk, cab or take the T for. It's just over the bridge into Boston, so you are pretty central and the rates are often reasonable. Prefer it to the Marriott Cambridge across the street and Legal Seafoods is right next door as well. Great place!

From the moment we arrived until we actually left Boston, we could honestly say the Kendall Hotel was fantastic. We arrived super early to Boston (around 11:30am) so we knew our room wouldn't be ready for us. The staff at the Kendall Hotel gladly held our bags so we could take advantage of our sightseeing. It was great that the T was only a block away making it super convenient to come and go.

We arrived to the hotel that evening at 10:30pm and were greeted by the front desk person. He was great in telling us all of the features of the hotel along with when breakfast would be served. We grabbed our bags and headed upstairs. We were a bit hesitant to be located right next to the elevator but it actually didn't bother us all night, maybe because we had the air conditioner on, who knows. The bed was quite comfy and the decor very New England. We had a bit of trouble figuring out the AC but eventually managed to get it to be comfortable enough to sleep all night with it on (not too cold, not too hot).

In the morning we were surprised to have such a yummy breakfast with eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit salad, muffins, coffee and juice. We also had a complimentary newspaper which was nice to look at while eating breakfast. We checked out and once again the hotel held our bags since our bus back home wasn't until 5:30pm so we could do some more sightseeing.

All in all, it was a very nice stay. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely stay here again when I go back to Boston.

“Charming hotel”

First and foremost the hotel is easy to get to and has immediate access to the T (1/2 block away). Parking was not an issue with an under-hotel garage (we paid $7/night when we made the reservation).

While not oppulent or grandiose in its scale, the lobby is very warm and inviting with charming decor and well appointed seating. One bummer is coffee is not available at all hours (from 5:30 am until breakfast is finished at 11am). The stay includes a hearty breakfast with pastries, fruit, granola, eggs, bacon and pancakes or french toast (both of which were outstanding). Has the feel of a european cafe with the doors open to the sidewalk, small, two-person tables out front facing the street and people walking by on their way about town. We very much enjoyed sipping coffee and reading the paper out there each morning.

The room was just as charming as the lobby with its Americana decor. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was a little cheezy for this nice of a hotel - at this price point, flat panels should be standard. Also, no coffee maker, microwave or mini-fridge. Not a big deal because you don't come to Boston to hang out in your room, but nice to know before making a reservation.

Service was prompt and kind especially upon check-in. We were early, but they allowed us to park in the garage and gave us a 10 minute intro to the city and helped us set our itinerary for the next two days - very helpful!

In summary, you come here for a unique, boutique experience. While there were some small short-comings we will definitely be staying here the next time we are in Boston!
