I enjoyed what was perhaps the best fish I have ever tried in any restaurant during my stay the week of February 18, 2013 The Chef, Dentin Inatir, prepared a steel-head trout on a bed of risotto with finely chopped vegetables. Unbelievable how well it was prepared and presented. Fantastic flavor! I would eat this again any time, anywhere. Great job Chef Dentin! Peter

This hotel is ideally located for visitors to the MIT campus. The rooms are excellent - clean, large and well insulated from the freezing temperatures outside.

However, I've marked the hotel down on a couple of points. Firstly, it was expensive despite it being the off season and secondly, the staff while polite, weren't particularly helpful. I've since discovered this may be due to an ongoing industrial dispute between the staff and the hotel group owners. Some other reviews on this site allude to protests going on at the hotel entrance. Whilst I did not see that during my stay I did get the impression that all was not right at this hotel, not least the fact that it was pretty empty all the time, especially the dining room at breakfast.

If I had known about the industrial dispute and I had booked the hotel myself (instead of through my employer) I would not have stayed here.

...which I got here. What surprised me was the better-than-average service. I called front desk for toothpaste because I forgot it and they literally were at my door in less than 2 minutes with a smile. That was impressive. The restaurant staff--not quite as impressive and professional, but not bad either. Food for our business meeting (catered meeting room) was quite good as well. Check-in was fast and simple (of course, on a Tuesday at noon, it should be, right?). Definite repeat visit.

Good hotel, pricey, close to everything but you can walk all over Cambridge to get to MIT or Hahvard. The hotel is recently remodeled and was clean. Hotels in Cambridge are expensive compared to Houston or Dallas or Denver. I paid $300 per night in the off season. Overall, nice place, not spectacular, but a good location.

Room Tip: Facing away from the street. It is noisy but that is Boston.

This is very nicely designed hotel right by MIT. Staff was friendly at the front and gave me good information about where I was going the next day and how much time I would need to get to Logan.

The food at the restaurant was good, but it took a while for the waiter to show up, and when he did he seemed a little miffed that I had stood up to find some assistance. I saw him the next day picketing the hotel with others seeking a union contract.

The hotel has a Spanish flavor which is fun, they boast a 24 hour playlist for the music running throughout the hotel, but I didn't find it great to listen to.

Overall however, very good experience.

I booked this stay through their own website. They had a terrific deal for a weekend stay for only $115 per night before taxes. This was prepaid and non-refundable. The hotel is located in the Tech Square area of MIT. This is a terrific area for bars and restaurants. We found street parking fairly easily and it being the weekend it was free Sunday. There is also a self-park lot attached to the hotel if street parking isnt an option. For me, another big plus is the dog-friendly policy of the hotel. There is no extra charge for your dog. They will charge if there is any damage or mess. Just make sure your pet is well-behaved and house-friendly and you won't have any issues.

The wifi is free and very fast (this is MIT afterall). The bed and sheets super comfy, the room design stylish, a nicely appointed gym on the 4th floor, very helpful staff and a decent restaurant in the lobby (Sid's), I'm more than satisfied. I plan to stay here again for my next visit to the Boston/Cambridge area. You won't find a better value in this neighborhood.

I stayed here to attend studies at Harvard University. It is very centrally located, furnished with modern decor and located next to both a supermarket and a local taxi stand. I walked into Harvard University each day, however I could also have taken a bus, a train one stop or a taxi down to Harvard Square.

Starbucks is only three blocks walk from the hotel and a fabulous vegetarian restaurant is situated close by. The room was very comfortable and free wifi was provided. The ten dollar in room cup of bad filter coffee was not worth it. Dining in Sidney's offers fabulous fresh seafood served by talented chefs, a decent international wine list and excellent service by Gabrielle.

The current photography exhibition offered in the foyer was a welcome escape at the end of a long day.

Room Tip: Ask for corner room which is slightly larger than the standard room.
