“Excellent quality hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

Perfect location for Cambridge and Boston. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Staff very helpful; they gave us a great recommendation for a nearby restaurant. Five years ago our son was married at Le Meridien and it is still a great place for weddings or for a night.

Third stay in this hotel which has become our locale when visiting family in Boston. This time we brought along our dog (she is very quiet, was never left alone in the room, and never, ever barked!). We were there over Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy being on bus line, walking distance to Back Bay/Newbury Street/PruCenter. Run down Mass Ave to the trails on either side of the Charles for great running. Down the street from Flour, the most amazing bakery, and Central Bottle, awesome selection of wine. Star Market next door but virtually invisible. There are some city elements--homeless shelter across the street and bar scene noise and drunken behavior on occasion. All in all, an oasis from the bustling city. Service is efficient and perhaps a bit cool but if ever there were a problem, I imagine they would be attentive. Restaurant is nice. Can get coffee at the bar in the a.m. or make your own in your room.

Room Tip: Centrally located to downtown Boston or Cambridge with MIT campus and green space close by.

Generally, we liked the hotel. Clean and we got a good price. However, it's a pet-friendly hotel... which apparently means it's OK to have a big dog barking in your room when you get back at 2:30AM as our neighbors did. I can't fault the hotel for the poor manners of its guests, but people should be aware of the pet-friendly aspect of the hotel before booking.

Room Tip: Make sure there are no dogs int he rooms around you!

I am always fascinated by the unique starwoods approach. I tend to find them appropriate, efficient and somewhat surgical in their function. 3.77 stars rounded up.

Maria carter is an excellent representative for the Meridien. Warm and caring front desk individual.

Got what I paid for. Always like the food I should mention.

Got the room at 20% discount! Very nice room with sofa and glass end table.

Even without the discount, it still is a very good alternative to Boston hotels. Less than 10 minutes to downtown Boston.

Use the valet parking for a small fee instead of parking it yourself.

Will definitely stay here again.

The rooms are clean and updated. The rooms are a fair size; however, slightly on the smaller side. The front desk staff was not very knowledgable in giving directions and caused us a $40 taxi ride to the completely wrong neighborhood. Overall, a good hotel.

Book this hotel for a week-end getaway and I was not dissapointed. It was well located, close to restaurants bars, and pubs. Also it is close to public transportation( central station) if you want to go and visit downtown Boston. If you want to visit Harvard or MIT you are also close enough to walk it. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and roomy except for the bathroom which could do with a little more space. I did not have supper at the restaurant but enjoyed a great breakfast.
