Very charming, well worth the long train ride from Rome. (do note that the metrobus passes are valid only up to Cesarno)
After you exit the train station, turn right and walk for about 5 min towards the main road and left upon hitting the main road. Once on the main road, you"ll see the beautiful castle.
Was advised upon ticket purchase that the tours are in Italian, but did not have much problems as there were English signs at each room. The lawn was gorgeous, and memorable. Would have loved to get married on that lawn! (Unfortunately, I'm not Katie, such luck eludes me!)
While we were there, it appeared that there was going to be some film shooting, so there were huge equipment vans rolling in and crowds of young fans around!
Unfortunate that there was a transport strike (I later found out that strikes are per-planned and you can pre-plan your journey around it to avoid the inconvenience) and we were stuck for two hours with little alternatives to get back to Rome city.
