“Even Better Than A Home Away From Home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

My wife and I spent two nights at this most delightful B&B. Wish it could have been more, but we are sure to return. Fresh, clean rooms, good and hearty breakfasts and two of the most delightful hosts that it has been our pleasure to have met in Ireland -- even after 18 trips.

SO much to see and do in the Lough Derg area and Hawthorn Lodge B&B is an ideal base from which to do so. I can't recommend the place highly enough!

Go. Stay. Savour true Irish hospitality at its finest.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the opportunity to chat with Noel and Ursula. They are friendly and knowledgeable

I stayed in Mountshannon last weekend for a family occasion and stayed in the Hawthorn Lodge. This B&B was very comfortable, very clean and the hosts were really friendly and hospitable. Ursula couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. Rooms were spotless and breakfast was delicious, i would definitely stay there again :-)

I enjoyed very much my staying at Hawthorn Lodge. Very friendly welcome, beautiful room and superb breakfast. Stayed for a week and enjoyed every second. Altough I wasn't on holiday, my staying in Hawthorn Lodge made my moving to Ireland and temporary separation from my family a lot easier. Highly recommended! Thanks Ursula

Hi, Thank you so much for your lovely review of our B & B, it's always rewarding to know that we are doing the simple things well. It's very important to us to know that you felt very welcomed here and especially since we were the first B & B you stayed in before you're big move to Ireland. Hope you will be very happy in our County & our Country! Best wishes for now, Ursula & Noel.

Sunday 12th May 2013. My second time staying here. I find it a wonderfully relaxing place a short stroll from picturesque Mountshannon. Marvellous welcome, comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. I will be back. Michael Brassill

Hawthorn Lodge is a real gem - old fashioned Irish hospitality, great location and beautiful accommodation. The Hogans are very friendly and most accommodating hosts who could not have been more welcoming. The room was lovely- spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. There is enough room to relax between sightseeing and it has a great shower - always important! Breakfast is a real treat- lovely home made bread to accompany a well-cooked Irish breakfast- perfect. Highly recommended for a relaxing break - near to all the local amenities but so peaceful and quiet. Ireland like it used to be!

We happened by chance late in the evening. we were tired and hungry. this beautiful family welcomed us with a kindness that we seemed to meet old friends. And so we stopped two days, as long as we could. we had fun, we chatted, tasted the delicious homemade bread. Our boys have played and watched tv with the delicious company of this dear family.

A really lovely B&B in a convenient location. Our pretty ensuite bedroom was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was generous and nothing short of delicious. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. We were travelling with a group of friends and all of us were delighted with our rooms and all aspects of our stay at the Hawthorn Lodge.
