“A great place to stay in a magical country.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2009

With a very large group in tow with many diverse interests and needs, the Hotel Ranga really stepped up and provided great service. The staff was terrific and the food was great. The location is perfect for all sorts of adventures. It was a memorable vacation and I look forward to my next stay.

I can highly recommend this fantastic place in the middle of nowhere. I can also recommend one of all the suits. The designer has made a great job. The food is incredible…..just go there.
The staff was nice, a lot of pleasant smiles.

My husband and I stayed at the Ranga for 2 nights on a week-long trip, and we wished we could have stayed there longer. We were upgraded to the beautiful royal suite and had a wonderful time there. The staff was super helpful booking activities by email before we even arrived and followed up on everything once we were there. The restaurant was excellent--even my husband commented on the delicious food, and he doesn't usually pay attention to what he's eating. If you stay at the Ranga, I recommend going on an ATV trip with Unnar at www.icesafari.is--we had a fantastic time with him.

Iceland and Hotel Ranga was the best surprise birthday gift I could receive.
The hotel is definately a 4+ hotel with excellent service, smiling faces and good food.
We tried 2 different types of rooms and they were each very nice. I strongly recommend the Master Suite. It is also a nice place for children as there are outdoor hot tubs etc.
Overall the staff is most helpful and friendly.

Ended up here as the hotel we had booked was shocking. The sign at the end of the drive said rooms available and for the £70 charged we thought it was well worth it. As we were trying to do our trip on a budget we didn't sample the hotel restaurant as this looked very expensive, but we did make use of the fantastic pool table, enormous baths and comfy beds. Unfortunatley the hot tubs weren't hot enough for us to use on the night in question, but they looked lovely and for a trip during northern lights time would be fantastic. Breakfast was included and was buffet style with a huge choice. The waffles were particularly good.

Very good service from the first to the last day. The rooms were clean and nice. Outside the hotel floats a big river and it's very romantic to lay back in the hottub, just outside the rooms, watching the stars, almost magic.. Good fishing nearby and a quiet environment is good for your soul. If the hotel had a walking strip next to the river for some day-time exercise, it would have been great, my wife thinks, anyway..

We'll be back next autumn to expericence more about this magic island.

The town of Hella. Well.....There is not much to say about the town, there's a gas station, a grocery store and a nice public pool with a cool waterslide. But the best thing about this town is a place called Ranga.

Having spent about a week in Hotel Ranga I can say it is one of the best and nicest places I have ever been to.Period.

In general I must say that I only made good experiences with accomodation in Iceland, but what I encountered in Hotel Ranga was just extraordinary. It is a top notch resort where all your wishes and needs are taken care of.

The food was beyond real, just amazing and the rooms are comfortable, cozy and classy. No need to talk about the service, 5 stars are simply not enough to rate the efforts the team made. Expectations are not just met, they're exceeded in paramount proportions. You might be intimidated by a huge padded polar bear standing in the hallway as you enter the hotel, but as you encounter members of the staff you feel welcome and embraced all of a sudden. To me it seemed they have at least 10 Miss Iceland and Miss Poland beauty pageant contestants working for them.

With a lot of activities and attractions close by you won't get bored outside of the hotel. With the spa and pool area you definitely won't get bored inside.

You might think I am getting paid to write these words, but you are way off. I'm just thankful for having spend an amazing and memorable week at the hotel and now I want to spread the word for future Iceland-Lovers who will sooner or later ask themselves the question where to stay. Hotel Ranga is the place. By the way, the rest of Iceland is pretty neat as well :)
