We stayed 3 nights at hotel Ranga on our first trip to Iceland. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as were all the people we met in Iceland. The room was fairly small but comfortable. The bathroom was also fairly compact but the shower worked well, only issue is the shower is in the bath with no shower screen so water tended to go over the floor. Bath large if you prefer baths to showers. Nice big bathrobes provided which were useful when using the outdoor hot tubs which we did twice and were good fun. Views over the river and so peaceful and quiet it was back to nature. We ate in the hotel restaurant every evening as there is not much around of an evening but the food was delicious and not as expensive as we had feared. We met the hotel owner one evening after dinner and he gave us after dinner drinks and he was very interesting to talk to. Unfortunately we didn't see the northern lights as it was too warm and cloudy but that's the chance you take. We found the bed too soft after 1st night and told reception. later that day we found they had dine something to the bed to make it a bit firmer. We loved Iceland, stunning scenery and plenty of interesting things to see. We walked on a glacier, saw amazing waterfalls and geysers. I would recommend Iceland to visit and we were glad we went.
