“Italian on the Square”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

This little gem sits right across from the Old State Capitol and packs a punch. The dishes are authentically Italian, prepared with care. The service was pretty good. In fairness, we had a trainee at our visit so a few things got missed. The restaurant has a small, intimate quality that matches well with the Italian offerings. Being relatively quiet on the weeknights, I highly recommend this place for a business lunch or a romantic dinner where you want to actually hear your date.

“Average Experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Okay, but not a great experience. Calamari was good but was served to us at room temperature. Salad also came out at room temperature. Entree was alright but not fab. Hope they work out the kinks. I'll try them again in a couple months.

“Excellent”

Great Pesto, Halibut and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Desserts were also great: cannolies and Italian ice. Had antipasto too. Good selections of wine. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice ambiance.

“Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

We had pasta and pizza. the pasta sauce was fabulous. My husband makes his own sauce and this was comparable to his. We also had their pizza which was delicious but a little soggy.

“Worst fake Italian food I am aware of”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

Marcella Hazzan once called food "an act of affection," but this so called Italian food is closer to an act of crime. This is easily the worst food I have had in Springfield. I went there 4 times hoping it was a fluke. My last time there I had three courses, non of which I could eat, and non of which was what was described on their menu. They have been out of basic menu items (such as lettuce) on each occasion, which is perhaps their greatest act of affection yet.
