“Worth seeing if you have the time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012

If you are a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, this is a must see house. Tour guide did a nice job explaining the history of the house, which features extensive FLW design, furniture, and window art. Should allow an hour for the tour.

“Went here on a whim”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

...and the Dana Thomas House was the highlight of our week! We were staying in St Louis for the week and decided to day trip 2 hrs. away to Springfield, Illinois to see thos Frank Loyd Wright home. This is a magnificent home, built in the early 1900's , and it is still awe inspiring for folks who appreciate architecture and art. The docent was so knowledgable about the building, the furnishings (also designed by Wright) and the history of the home, she made the tour come alive. The tour was so enjoyable we were wanting to go back and return the home, but time didn't allow. This is a 5 star attraction! The only draw back is there is NO photography inside the home.

“Fantastic, not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

We came to Springfield for the Lincoln history but frankly this house might have overshadowed it for me. I've been in other Frank Lloyd Wright homes but this has to be my favorite. Our guide knew the history and loved this house. Each room was very interesting. It is hard to believe that they built this house at the time of the horse and buggy. Don't miss the gift store. No admission fee, just a request for a donation if you see fit.

“Interesting Wright Home”

Captivating stories about the Dana-Thomas House by our interesting docent kept even my 8 year old's attention throughout the tour.
