“A breath of fresh air!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2009

Very clean, very beautiful, very friendly, very welcoming. This was the best choice we made while in Springfield. We had reservations at the Microtel and it was a nightmare. We cancelled our reservations after one night and drove around Springfield looking for something better. We went to Staybridge and we found a bit of heaven on earth. The staff (Naomi) was great! She showed us different types of rooms and showed us the pool, workout area, and laundry room. Everything was clean!! Everything was nice. I took my daughters (3 and 1) They didn't want to leave!! They have hot breakfast every morning and Tuesday thru Thursday they have a reception from 5:30-7:30 with food and drinks. I will NEVER stay anywhere else when we visit our family in Springfield. That is our new home away from home.

We stayed at Staybridge Suites for 2 nights while we visited the historical sites in Springfield. We were so happy with this hotel! We had a 2 bedroom suite. Each bedroom had its own full bath. A TV in each bedroom as well as one in the living room. We also had a kitchen. Everything was spotless and everyone that we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Our kids were thrilled with the very nice basketball court - they have basketballs that you can borrow at the front desk . The breakfast was more than we expected - eggs, waffles, oatmeal, bacon, cereal, fruit, etc. All in all a great hotel that we would absolutely stay at again!

We stayed at this hotel over six nights in January. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. It was a newer property, so it was in good shape. The staff was always pleasant and was able to have our room cleaned even though we got out late. We only had breakfast one morning since we were trying to stay on California time, and it was OK. I'm not a big breakfast eater so I didn't mind. The kitchen was a true kitchenette. We frequently stay at Residence Inn's where they have a full kitchen, so this was a bit disappointing. Plenty of food options nearby including a big grocery store. The pizza place was pretty good and Steak N' Shake was a revelation to us Californians!

  • Liked — Size of room, free internet
  • Disliked — Small kitchenette

We just got home for a two night stay in Springfield for a last minute family getaway! We loved the Staybridge Suites! We booked rooms for Monday and Tuesday evenings and it was only $121 plus tax for a suite with a king size bed for us, a sofa bed for the kids (ages 9 and 5), and a kitchen. We were able to eat our lunch in the hotel room and had breakfast at the wonderful continental breakfast offerred by the hotel. Breakfast included, variety of breads and bagels for toasting, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and ham (tuesday), cheese omelets and sausage patties (monday) cereals, fruit juices, soda, milk, tomato juice, coffee, teas galore, yogurts, and paper delivered to our table. They even gave the kids "free popsicles" for eating a good breakfast.

Our room was well maintained. We had dishes, a dishwasher, full size fridge with ice makers, two oven tops, microwave with microwavable dishes. There were even wine glasses for my late night chardonney!

The pool was small but perfect for a 30 or 45 minutes in the pool with the kids. When they were out of towels we asked for more and they brought us a ton! Very friendly staff and helpful!

We went to see the Lincoln Museum and sites and were no more than 10 minutes from every site and restuarant we wanted to visit.

Great location, quiet and remote yet a block froma grocery store and five blocks from a Starbucks. Great place, friendly staff. We will be seeking out more Staybridge Suites on our next getaway!!

  • Liked — a separate sleeping place for parents and the kitchen were very handy!
  • Disliked — pool was small and limiting..but nice if you don't have little ones to entertain..

This was our second stay in a Staybridge, the first being in Fishers, IN (and loved it). I'm really starting to like Staybridge Suites. This time, we had a one-bedroom King suite, with a sofa bed for the kids.

Pros:
- Clean and quiet.
- Private bedroom for the parents, since we stay up later than the kids
- Rooms were well appointed (full-size fridge, microwave, etc.).
- Very close to grocery store, restaurants, and Route 66 Drive-in/Knights Action Fun Part/Caribbean Adventure water park.
- Close to White Oaks mall and other shopping/eating.
- Free breakfast -- nothing special, but decent and hot.
- Friendly staff.
- Free use of washing machines and dryers.

Cons:
- Water in the pool was a little cool, but not bad (and not cold enough to stop the kids).
- Chlorine was strong in the pool area one evening (they must have just treated the pool), but the doors were later opened and everything was fine.
- Neighbors had both a dog and a baby, and although we heard both at other times, we fortunately never heard them at night.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2006

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with kitchen (one king, one queen) w/2 full baths and a pull out couch, 2 27" TV's for $143/night with AAA discount in March 2006. What a bargain for 750 square feet! We had no complaints about noise either in the room or from traffic nearby. There wasn't any competition for the pool. I had the fitness center all to myself. My only complaint about the fitness center is that it is adjacent to the laundry room -- be prepared to get overheated if the dryers are running.

We had some minor problems with our room that irked us. The Staybridge policy is to do a thorough cleaning after check out. I think this leads to cleaning in a hurry rather than one that is thorough -- especially if there are a lot of checkouts at once. Our room was clean but there were some maintenance issues I feel shouldn't have gone unnoticed.

The door to one of the bathrooms wouldn't close; a crumpled towel was on the floor in one of the closets; one of the remotes for the TV had a dead battery; someone had burned popcorn in the microwave and the smell in the living area was so revolting we bought a candle to freshen the air; clean dishes were left in the dishwasher. For the $$ we paid, overall we were very pleased with our room. .

The hotel has excellent access to the freeway (even though you can't hear it) and there are lots of excellent restaurants and retail shops nearby. There is a mini-basketball and tennis court and a barbecue grill in the courtyard. Racquets and balls are available at the desk.

The complimentary breakfast was juice, coffee, muffins, pastries, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. The hot item changed daily: pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage patty; gravy and biscuits. The hot meals are pre-processed - the scrambled eggs looked like they were cooked in an egg poacher -- very odd shape and texture. There is an adequate variety of choices to meet everyone's tastes.

We were at the hotel over the weekend when the hospitality food service is not offered in the evening.

The dining area is comfortable and wasn't crowded the three days we were there. There is a fireplace nearby with comfortable furniture to chat with other guests, read the paper or relax. There is also a reading room adjacent to the business center with bookshelves filled with novels if you're looking for something to read. Two computers are available for guests and access to check my e-mail was immediately available when I wanted it.

We would recommend this Staybridge to anyone!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2005

My family stayed at the Staybridge, Springfield, IL Oct. 2005. Hands down this is where we will stay next time visting Springfield. We were there to tour historic Springfield.

We booked a two-bedroom suite which consisted of two bedrooms with two full baths, kitchen area and living room area which had a pull-out sofa. Extremely spacious, extremely clean. This Staybridge I believe is three years old and is in perfect condition. The beds were comfortable. Our suite had one king, one queen and the pull-out. We paid $143 p/night using AARP rate. Worth every penny. The kids enjoyed the pool a lot. This suite had a full refrigerator which was great to put our pop and things in. The kids could spread out in the spaciousness of the room, and it was like having a home away from home. There was a 27 in. TV in every room.

The complimentary breakfast consists of juices, coffee, muffins, cereals, fruit. The hot item is either like pancakes & bacon or egg and sausage. The breakfast is adequate. If you've been to an Embassey Suites, it is not like that. There is no made-to-order breakfast here. The hot meals are pre-processed, minimal but certainly adequate. We never felt hungry when leaving the table. There is a very lovely seating area for the continental breakfast, and there is a fireplace which makes it very cozy and quaint.

This Staybridge is located close to all the Lincoln sites. It only took us about 10 or 12 minutes to get to the sites. All up and down Veterans Pkwy are all kinds of restaurants. Staff was friendly.

I would recommend this Staybridge to anyone!
