This stay was to visit friends and go to the University of IL. We have stayed here before. Love this hotel and staff. The GM is Terry Truman who is very hands on. Saw him at the front desk and various areas of the hotel.
Complimentary Breakfast buffet every morning. There is some sort of eggs everyday as well as a different meat daily. The other breakfast items do not differ daily. Plenty of food.
There is a Tues. thru Thurs. Sundowner evening reception, although when I was there on a Monday they had one too. There is beer & wine as well as soft drinks and juices available. One night it was a cookout-hamburgers,hot dogs, chips, potato salad. Great touch.
There are BBQ's on the patio for use. a Sport court, indoor pool and spa. Loved the free washers and dryers. There is a fitness center that was cooler temp. wise then my last visit which was a welcome change.
Very friendly staff,a home away from home.
We had a one bedroom. There is a full size frig.,2 burner stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, dishes. The Living Rm has a pullout sofa bed and TV,you have to go through bedroom to get to the bathroom. There is a privacy door to bedroom.
I recommend this hotel.

This was our second stay in a Staybridge, the first being in Fishers, IN (and loved it). I'm really starting to like Staybridge Suites. This time, we had a one-bedroom King suite, with a sofa bed for the kids.

Pros:
- Clean and quiet.
- Private bedroom for the parents, since we stay up later than the kids
- Rooms were well appointed (full-size fridge, microwave, etc.).
- Very close to grocery store, restaurants, and Route 66 Drive-in/Knights Action Fun Part/Caribbean Adventure water park.
- Close to White Oaks mall and other shopping/eating.
- Free breakfast -- nothing special, but decent and hot.
- Friendly staff.
- Free use of washing machines and dryers.

Cons:
- Water in the pool was a little cool, but not bad (and not cold enough to stop the kids).
- Chlorine was strong in the pool area one evening (they must have just treated the pool), but the doors were later opened and everything was fine.
- Neighbors had both a dog and a baby, and although we heard both at other times, we fortunately never heard them at night.

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with kitchen (one king, one queen) w/2 full baths and a pull out couch, 2 27" TV's for $143/night with AAA discount in March 2006. What a bargain for 750 square feet! We had no complaints about noise either in the room or from traffic nearby. There wasn't any competition for the pool. I had the fitness center all to myself. My only complaint about the fitness center is that it is adjacent to the laundry room -- be prepared to get overheated if the dryers are running.

We had some minor problems with our room that irked us. The Staybridge policy is to do a thorough cleaning after check out. I think this leads to cleaning in a hurry rather than one that is thorough -- especially if there are a lot of checkouts at once. Our room was clean but there were some maintenance issues I feel shouldn't have gone unnoticed.

The door to one of the bathrooms wouldn't close; a crumpled towel was on the floor in one of the closets; one of the remotes for the TV had a dead battery; someone had burned popcorn in the microwave and the smell in the living area was so revolting we bought a candle to freshen the air; clean dishes were left in the dishwasher. For the $$ we paid, overall we were very pleased with our room. .

The hotel has excellent access to the freeway (even though you can't hear it) and there are lots of excellent restaurants and retail shops nearby. There is a mini-basketball and tennis court and a barbecue grill in the courtyard. Racquets and balls are available at the desk.

The complimentary breakfast was juice, coffee, muffins, pastries, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. The hot item changed daily: pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage patty; gravy and biscuits. The hot meals are pre-processed - the scrambled eggs looked like they were cooked in an egg poacher -- very odd shape and texture. There is an adequate variety of choices to meet everyone's tastes.

We were at the hotel over the weekend when the hospitality food service is not offered in the evening.

The dining area is comfortable and wasn't crowded the three days we were there. There is a fireplace nearby with comfortable furniture to chat with other guests, read the paper or relax. There is also a reading room adjacent to the business center with bookshelves filled with novels if you're looking for something to read. Two computers are available for guests and access to check my e-mail was immediately available when I wanted it.

We would recommend this Staybridge to anyone!

My family stayed at the Staybridge, Springfield, IL Oct. 2005. Hands down this is where we will stay next time visting Springfield. We were there to tour historic Springfield.

We booked a two-bedroom suite which consisted of two bedrooms with two full baths, kitchen area and living room area which had a pull-out sofa. Extremely spacious, extremely clean. This Staybridge I believe is three years old and is in perfect condition. The beds were comfortable. Our suite had one king, one queen and the pull-out. We paid $143 p/night using AARP rate. Worth every penny. The kids enjoyed the pool a lot. This suite had a full refrigerator which was great to put our pop and things in. The kids could spread out in the spaciousness of the room, and it was like having a home away from home. There was a 27 in. TV in every room.

The complimentary breakfast consists of juices, coffee, muffins, cereals, fruit. The hot item is either like pancakes & bacon or egg and sausage. The breakfast is adequate. If you've been to an Embassey Suites, it is not like that. There is no made-to-order breakfast here. The hot meals are pre-processed, minimal but certainly adequate. We never felt hungry when leaving the table. There is a very lovely seating area for the continental breakfast, and there is a fireplace which makes it very cozy and quaint.

This Staybridge is located close to all the Lincoln sites. It only took us about 10 or 12 minutes to get to the sites. All up and down Veterans Pkwy are all kinds of restaurants. Staff was friendly.

I would recommend this Staybridge to anyone!

We stayed here In August of 2004. We had a two room suite w/kitchenette--that was SO wonderful with the two kids. It was quiet, the pool was nice, and we had a very relaxing time. It is off the highway, so there is NO NOISE at all. As a plus, there is a grocery store within walking distance which helped cut down on eating out. We would definitely stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!!
