“Fabulous Food, Excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Booked a table on line, the requested window table was awaiting our arrival. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly as we were the first table seated that evening. The house salad was excellent and my husband found the caesar salad to be unusual in its presentation and really wonderful. We went with filets - some of the best steaks we have ever had, pefectly prepared. Nick's potatoes are fabulous - reminded us of the au gratin potatoes at classic chicago restaurants. We split a chocolate dessert which was really rich and beautiful in its presentation. We will definitely return. It was a great experience!

“A Hit at the Top of Springfield Illinois”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

We made our first visit to Nick and Nino's last night and we will return. We have eaten in this facility under other owners with mixed experiences. The experience was outstanding. My wife and I both had the 8 ounce filet and they were perfectly prepared and tasty. Nick's potatoes, a form of scalloped potatoes proved to be an excellent side as did the asparagus. We also tried the Caesar salad which was a good decision. We highly recommend this restaurant.

“Simply marvelous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

The food was perfectly prepared. Service was exceptional. It was simply a great and memorable evening. We started with two different salads - a Caesar and the house. Both were great, but i especially loved the champagne vinaigrette on the house salad, as well as the goat cheese croutons. We both chose the flight of filets - three 3-oz. filets with different crusts. Between us we tried all four available crusts. They were all great, but our favorite was the garlic. We also tried two different sauces - the bearnaise and the brandy peppercorn. Both sauces were perfectly prepared, as was the hollandaise that accompanied our asparagus side dish. Our other side dish, Nick's Potatoes, were out of this world. There was absolutely nothing negative about our experience. They have a wonderful wine list which is detailed on a tablet which is very easy to navigate. It provides detailed information on all of the available wines. You can search by varietal or region, and it is easy to see which wines are available by the glass as well as the bottle. We would return here in a heartbeat if we lived closer.

“Great food, attentive bartender & a friendly chef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We were staying at the Hilton Springfield for the weekend. It was a Friday night, and we had driven from the Chicago suburbs. The drive took extra long due to detours from flooding. When we finally arrived we didn't want to try to find a place so we went to the top floor and tried to walk in without a reservation. That was a mistake. This place was packed, everyone was dressed up (suits and ties) and we were in jeans. The hostess very kindly suggested that we eat at the bar, where we'd have the same menu as the dining room. We followed her suggestion and are glad that we did. Our bartender, Shannon, was friendly, talkative and attentive - he even brought me a drink that I had requested because I had enjoyed it at the The Pinnacle, the Hilton's lounge next door earlier in the evening. It was a glass of champagne with a candied hibiscus flower in it. There was a party of 3 young women next to us at the bar enjoying a girls' night out, there were couples, there were small groups, a birthday party and what looked like business dinners. While were were deciding what to order, the chef came out and worked the room and I complimented him on the hors d'oeuvres that we had enjoyed at the Pinnacle. He stopped and chatted for awhile and gave us recommendations/preferences of his favorites on the menu. I ordered the asparagus risotto and it was delicious, fresh, not too rich, and the perfect size. Good steaks, sides and desserts, too. This place is expensive, but when you leave, you feel like the money spent was well worth it.

“Great for special occasions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Nick & Nino's last night. Food was excellent, the cheese ravioli with lobster was great. The presentation of every dish let you know this was someplace special. Desserts were creative and the one we had was excellent.
