We started our Lincoln attraction tours at his house, and I'm so glad we did. It was very informative, not very crowded (it was a weekday), and we enjoyed talking with all the characters of the surrounding houses. It was humbling to see the life Lincoln lived in Springfield, and especially see the house and use he once resided in and where his young son died. It was moving to know that we could touch the handrails he once used, along with the hallways and steps leading up to the house. If your time allows, I recommend watching the 20 minute video at the tourist center before going on the tour. We also walked up and down the streets nearby that have been renovated to meet the times of Lincoln's days, and they were very interesting. We spent about 2 hours here.
