“kudos to the NPS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2011

This attraction does an excellent job of putting you back in Lincoln's time and place. Take the free Lincolns' neighborhood tour and learn about their neighbors. The home tour is free and the NPS visitor's center where you pick up the tickets has more information inside and a friendly staff. Ample $2. parking.

“Great house tour and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2011

This site is very good. The staff is incredibly friendly. The tour is very good, especially the way the neighborhood was preserved around it. The gift shop is very good, however, Tinsley Dry Goods at Lincoln-Herndon Law Offices is the best bang for your book.

“Historic Site Which Is Worth A Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2011

Take a trip back in time to see the house where honest Ade and his family and associates lived. This place is like a little village with 12 houses on site all of which are viewable both inside and hour. Expect about an hours tour of this historic site. The guided tours are full of historic and useful information.

“Excellent historical site to visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2011

We came to Springfield IL specifically to see historic sites. Of the ones we saw we were very happy with the visit to Lincoln's home. The visitors center is very well organized and knowledgeable. The home tours are not too large a group of people. We had a great tour through the home by Stephen - park ranger. We also had a good tour on the street. The National Park service has done a good job of restoring the neighborhood to represent the 1860's.
There was no fee for this attraction, but the parking lot was $2.00/ per hour.

“Worth seeing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2010

To get a real feel for Lincoln's life, definitely see this house! But first, go to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, a few blocks away, for an important overview.

To see this house, you get tickets at the Visitor Center. It's a nice center, but the film is pretty amateur, so skip the film but make sure you go the the Presidential Museum before you go through this house.

Great national park staff!
