Was really looking forward to visiting this site. Was of the impression that in addition to the 'period correct' furnishings, there were several lectures, hands-on demonstrations & rotating exhibits to view. The building has been restored to appear like it did during 1840's - 1870's with many original furnishings. However, the woman giving a 'lecture' on the Ladies Aid Society didn't give a lecture at all and only responded to a few questions that we asked. There were lots of displays & items to look at giving you an idea of what the organization did, but I really expected it to be more of an oral history rather than visual alone. Glad I didn't have to pay to visit, although donations are suggested.
