“nice hotel. eager staff. very expensive.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2011

had a lovely week at the angela having been relocated from the castello boutique.
chose not to buy drinks there as the prices were very high.
6 euros for a half pint of beer. their wine was starting at about 20 euros a bottle. the same brand at the supermarket next door was 3 euros? work that one out.
was glad we stayed half board as some people were paying 15 euros for a average breakfast.
evening meals buffet style were always top notch. most people in the evening went down to the tavernas to drink, a Ltr caraffe of wine only 6 euros and a good meal for two only 25 euros.
hotel was clean but having seen the castello boutique which opened on the day of our departure,i was gutted. it's leagues ahead of the angela. loved sissi, and i recommend the jolly roger bar and the sunset bar for a drink.
the waiters were always helpfull,pleasant and eager to please. would i stay there again? not unless they lowered their prices. 600 percent profit on drinks is unforgivable.

We stayed in the apartments across the road for a week and had a brilliant time. The apartment was spacious and clean and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. All the people around us were really friendly if you wanted to socialise .
We had full use of the facilities in the hotel; the pools were lovely and exactly how they looked in the photos although the we couldn't seem to get the jacuzzi to warm up! The bar was a bit pricey so we usually headed to the town for a drink, which was only a 5 minute walk away.
Breakfast and dinner were included which was really convenient. Breakfast was great, much more than we were expecting! Dinner was fine, nothing special but included in the price so we still eat it every night! The English couple who ran the hotel and served us in the restaurant every night were really friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.
The location was quiet and relaxing but we would recommended having a car if you want to see any sights or have a big night out.
Had a great time and would recommend to anyone

We had a lovely 10 day stay at this hotel. We had a clean, spacious, elegant room with balcony. Breakfast had a nice choice of hot and cold food. We paid half board but didn't eat in the hotel every night. The food is a bit more like very good school dinner, than 5* food but fine. We didn't pay a 5* price and so didn't feel let down by the food. Even if we had paid a 5* price, we wouldn't have been let down by anything else. I would happily go back to this hotel for another holiday, it was perfect for a romantic holiday to Crete.

Hotel clean and reasonably quiet but service awful to the point of rudeness. Food luke warm and not labelled so anybodies guess what it was. End of season and running out of different items from the restuarant. Jacuzzi out of order for one of our weeks and air conditioning not working in restuarant at all. Set with no views of mountains or sea and said in write up there was. In an awful place with no entertainment or prom to walk along. In all Crete was not our sort of island, unattractive and quite honestly looks like a bomb hit most of it. The people are not so friendly either and rude on the roads. After visiting many islands over the years this is the one we wont be going back to, it was hard to find somewhere of interest. Weather however was very good at 30 degress. A car is essential or you will be very bored so thank goodness we always have one.

This hotel was just exactly like the pics on here, no hidden nightmares, everything was just perfect especially for a very quiet break, very close to nice Tavernas even in Malia, sample Old Malia Town, Milo's Taverna was lovely and very reasonable, this hotel isn't in any brochures just on the net and thats the way it should stay to keep it exclusive........ :-}

We stayed at the Angela Suites hotel in July 2010. The hotel itself is very nice. Well put together and thought out, you do have to ensure you book into the main hotel itself if you want the 5 star style rooms but as long as you they are fabulous! Ours had a massive bed, a chaise-longue, a lovely bathroom and a balcony to the side facing the pool which caught the last sunshine of the day - perfect! Everything in the room was good quality we had the purple furnishings one you see in the pictures! Our air con worked fine and the bathroom was modern and clean. We had B&B accomodation which was fine because the small fishing village of sissi had plenty of nice little restaurants only a 10 min walk away to eat in which were great. It is a small and friendly resort but probably one of the prettiest on the island. We hired a moped and visited a few other places around the island and it isn't the most fabulous greek island I have ever been to but it is nice for a break. Greece is Greece so there is always a slightly rural feel to it, but as long as that is what you are expecting it is fine. I actually like the fact that some parts are a little unkept and unruly! Personally Kos is still my favourite greek island but this lovely little hotel really made our holiday.
The three pools were a nice touch, even though one was in the shade most of the day, but it looks very pretty and meant you could still have a dip if the main pool was busy.
