Had a wonderful, two week stay at this hotel and was very, very pleased that we had chosen this place.
We had room 28 which was way up the hillside........... I didn't count but a previous poster said that there was 70 steps up to the terrace where our studio was.
The studio was larger than I expected with high ceilings, separate bedroom ( with double bed) and a well equipped kitchen/utility area with generous wardrobe space and another ( single) bed.
Alongside a generous array of the usual pots, pans, cutlery and kettle, there was also a toaster provided..........A first for me on my many trips to Greece.
Very welcome for DIY breakfasts!
We had a HUGE, covered balcony that was such a blessing as it had arched pillars and a high ceiling. This kept the direct sun off the property for most of the day and helped keep the whole place cool.
Although the temperatures were high, we didn't need to use the aircon which was a blessing....I hate aircon!
Outside the balcony was a wide, walkway/terrace with many flowers and trees.
The views were amazing with the whole of the Malia bay area and the mountains behind, spread out to the side and thee sun set over the sea immediately in front of us.....Spectacular!
NB It was quite a climb though and anyone with walking difficulties might have a problem negotiating the many steps and or lugging their cases up there.
Down below, the pool is large and well equipped with loungers and brolly's. There is also a small children's pool that is ideal for toddlers.
The bar and spacious eating areas were smart and well shaded and the food and drink on offer well cooked and priced.
Although the number of staff were few, they were efficient, friendly and very obliging.
In fact, the service was excellent.
Generally, this is a quiet hotel about a half hour's walk from the main action. It has MANY return visitors and I can quite understand why!
I loved our stay and was so pleased that my request for a higher room was granted. The studios below us were much smaller and although most had a decent view, they wouldn't have pleased us as much as what we got.
Highly recommended for those who want good accommodation and a quieter location to stay in.
Best views and larger studios are higher up. Room 28 was perfect.
