“Great for business travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2009

I would definitely recommend this hotel for business travel. Good wireless connectivity, great lobby for meeting clients, great breakfast and nice location. Shuttle takes you to old market for dinner. Large rooms, flat panel TV, the works. Rates are a bit on the pricey side if you are not getting reimbursed to families on a budget might be better served by looking into staying in Council Bluffs or some of the outer areas of the city.

This hotel is a few blocks from the Old Market can't be more than a year old. Very nice hotel with easy free parking. Beautiful and clean hotel. We were shocked at how nice and clean this hotel is. Would stay there again.

this was our first visit to this hampton inn and was extremenly pleased with the staff to make us feel at home. they provided their hotel van to take us to the downtown area for supper, took us to the airport and picked us up when we returned and allowed us to keep our vehicle in their parking lot for 15 days. gwen knave, the front office manager needed to be complemented for her attitude to make us feel at home in their hotel. a job well done.

Very nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. It's pretty typical for Hampton Inn. Very nice large sitting area in lobby with big screen TV, pleasant breakfast area with the typical free breakfast fare. Very nice feature was that they would let you schedule the shuttle to take you or pick you up from anywhere within a few miles - a great bonus since the wind chill was -30!!! You could call to get picked up and return to the hotel and the drivers were very prompt and pleasant!

Room was spacious, with a flat screen TV. A great feature was that the desk was actually a table on wheels that you could move around the room, and use it as needed for a desk or to sit and eat. Great idea!

One drawback was that our room was on the second floor near the laundry - our room actually vibrated when the washer was spinning - so ask about room location when you check in!

  • Liked — Spacious room, free shuttle drop off and pick up anywhere
  • Disliked — room near laundry was noisy

Excellent place to stay. First impressions of the place was wow! Guest parking is at the rear of the building. Checking in and out was quick. The hotel had an excellent fitness room with each of the equipment (treadmill, elipical...) had their own independant TV monitor. The pool is well built with a hot tub.

The elevator and hallway to our room is well taken care of. It didn't feel stuffy and it was well lit.

The suite was well designed. A two bedroom suite was booked with a couch/pull out bed. The hotel even provided a tray should you use a laptop or do some paperwork on your bed. The room also had a desk with very comfortable chairs. Over space was large. The room smelt fresh and the bedding looks very new and comfortable, unlike some hotels. The room also had a microwave, mini fridge, a large flat screen TV monitor and high speed wireless internet.

There is a small shop downstairs by the front desk where you can buy everything from drinks, snacks to frozen dinners anytime. The morning breakfast includes a hot meal (sausage, eggs...etc).

In case this hotel has no rooms available, they have a sister hotel next door called the Homewood Suites. They share the same front door driveway.

The surrounding area is still being developed (reclaiming an old railway yard and warehouse district). Walking around the area looks safe and had no worries at night. It is only a short walk to the Qwest Center (see photo).

  • Liked — Everything is still fresh and new.
  • Disliked — Nothing.

After a long day at the zoo, we were hoping for a great hotel. Thankfully, we found it! This was the first time our 4 year old had stayed in a hotel, and it was a fun time! The staff was very helpful and even upgraded us to a bigger room when we opted for a King to share with the three of us because it was cheaper. Instead, they moved us to a suite with 2 queens. My son is still talking about the nice hotel. Everything was like new and very clean. The free breakfast was perfect and there was so much to eat! The downtown area is just a few blocks away with great food and shops. We can't wait to go back to Omaha and the Hampton Inn!

The Hampton Inn Omaha - Downtown was a very pleasant place to spend a few nights. The hotel was opened in late 2007 and still feels very new. The rooms were spotless and attractive, the bed was wonderful. The property if 4 stories and the best views of downtown and the Qwest Center can be had from rooms 423 through 449, request them for a lovey view of the Omaha skyline. The breakfast was the usual (no additional cost) Hampton Inn fare with eggs, sausage, french toast, bagles, fruit, muffins, cerals, etc. They had sack breakfasts for on-the-go folks, I grabbed a blueberry muffin each morning and filled a coffee cup with orange juice, then added the coffee cup lid for a mess-free breakfast in the car myself. The hotel is northeast of downtown and is a stretch to be in walking distance, I would drive. The Qwest Center parking lots are right across the street and the Center is a short but easy walk. Conventioneers would do well staying here. The area around the hotel is rapidly developing, but there are currently a lack of dining and entertainment options within walking distance. The hotel is aware of this and offers a free shuttle van service until midnight I believe. Parking is free, the area around the hotel felt safe and I would have have hesitated to walk around after dark. The property shares a city block with a Homewood Suites by Hilton. In the morning it took me less than 10 minutes to drive from the hotel to the airport, a big plus. The staff was friendly and recommended several local restaurants which I throughly enjoyed (The Old Mattress Factory Bar and Grill - despite the name, very family friendly and Rick's Cafe Boatyard), their their definition of "walking distance" is significantly different than mine. I would stay at this property again without a doubt.
