“Close to Century Link Center, Hotels. Good Food.”
I have been to "the Old Mat" probably a dozen times, Not because I crave the food or the great service, but its literally sits in the corner of the Century Link Center's parking lot so by default it is easy to walk to after an event.
Most of the entrees are between 12-15 bucks. I don't drink but noticed my associates bills at the end of the night were twice what mine was just for a couple of drinks. By far my favorite thing to eat here is the BBQ brisket, Note: none of the items from the smoker like ribs and brisket are available at lunch. Their fish and chips was very good and I also enjoyed the shrimp tacos. If you are a fan of baked beans do try these, they have a smoky rich flavor with chunks of pork.
I do not think there are many options around the convention center north of the highway in Omaha. The Old Mattress Factory has become an old standby that reliably serves good food in a sports bar atmosphere.
