“Great location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Stayed at Homewood Suites for a short business trip,

Location: Only a few minutes from the airport. Right across the street from TD Ameritrade Park, (If you could book this hotel during the College World Series you'd be set) It is also very close to Creighton University. I was able to travel from the hotel to my work location on the southside of Omaha in about 15 minutes, traffic even during rush hour in Omaha isn't bad. across the street you have a couple of Pizza options (Union Pizzeria and Bar was good) There is a frozen yogurt place as well and if the weather is decent and you want to walk a couple of blocks there is another place for food/drink called the Matt, some kind of small theatre and a couple of stores. The area around the hotel seems safe

The Hotel: The suite was great, clean and there were no issues with check in or out. The included breakfast was good and the Mon-Thurs food offering was pretty good, actually could serve as dinner if you didn't want to go out. Excercise room had the basics and though I didn't use the indoor pool and hot tub they were there and appeared nice.

Not going to call them real negatives but some thoughts I guess. I was third floor on the main street side, definitely use the blackout shades, the road is well lit and your room will be too at night without them. Being on the street there was some street noise, first night I woke up at 3am before closing the blackout shades and going back to sleep. You could always request a room on the backside of the hotel or maybe the higher floors it isn't as much of an issue. During the evening food service they offer wine and beer, while this is obviously a nice perk the beer was Bud Light and it wasn't very cold (In the Colorado Springs location they serve two beers, an american light and then a specialty beer which was Killians Red once and Fat Tire on another trip, Nebraska has several regional beers available, one of those would be a nice addition) but you can't really complain about complimentary beer and wine so if you don't like the choices you just pass on them. Which brings me to another point if you didn't want beer or wine your choice was water or tea, point to Colorado again, they had a fountain soda machine which was nice for non-drinkers and families.

All in all I am a fan of Homewood Suites and try to stay at them when I travel, I will definitely stay here on my Omaha trips.

I travel here often for business and the hotel is the best. It is right along the river, easy to get to and convient to most places in the downtown Omaha area. Rooms are clean, quiet and the evening light meal and breakfast are perfect for busy business travelers. I ALWAYS stay here when I am in the area. Front desk folks are awesome.

Stayed two evenings and was most impressed with the staff, especially front desk and food crew. They were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Room was very clean, but the sheets and towels were very thin. The fitted sheet on the mattress seemed too small for the bed. We walked to Old Market Area (easy walk) for dinner and both evenings and felt very safe when walking home. This hotel is right across from the baseball stadium (which may be noisy when in season)and a couple blocks from convention center which was hosting the River City Rodeo the day we left. The area around hotel is fairly new and old buildings have been remodeled into condo's/apts with shopping/restaurants/convenience stores/yogurt shop, etc on ground level. The parking lot is only for guest with one vehicle, but there is no charge which is nice. Location is close to the river and could hear river boats a couple times during the night, but not an issue, and could be due to location of room. We stayed during the week on the seventh floor and hotel guests were mostly professionals; when we checked out, it was mostly those attending/participating in the rodeo. Two completely different breakfast crowds and some of the kids were making a mess at the breakfast bar and eating area. All in all, the hotel is great, clean, in a great location, and the staff is fantastic.

The Homewood Suites was a last minute choice and it was a good one. Very convenient to Creighton University! The kitchen is small but beautiful. The room was a king with sleeper and worked out great. The hotel is very new, very clean and breakfast was better than expected. I will definitely stay here again.

The commercials for Homewood Suites have it right: it really feels like home. The small scale
lobby, business center, and breakfast restaurant are all very warm and welcoming. It has a
larger than expected indoor pool. The one bedroom suite has a nice mini-kitchen with granite
counter tops and a full size refrigerator. A comfortble couch and easy chair provide a great
conversation area or perfect for viewing television. The bedroom has one of those "great beds" with comfortable linens and pillows. Nice vanity and bathroom, with a good sized closet
and furniture with storage room. It's the hotel that you want to stay in longer. Everything nicely
done, friendly service staff, including shuttle drivers. They'll get you to all the places you want
to go in the downtown area and the airport. A perfect place for those attending an event at the
convention center, Creighton University, or the Old Market. There is everything to like about this great hotel. Great breakfast!

Room Tip: I had a room on a higher floor, but not sure it was as important as it might be in a location that h...

I got a great price on a suite.

The two room suite is large and clean, with modern appoinments. My suite had a full size refrigerator, dual range top electric stove, microwave, toaster and dishwashing machine.

My suite had a 48" flatscreen television in both the bedroom and living room.

I was working at the Century Link Center, so the location was perfect for me. Also, the hotel is centrally located in Omaha, in a really nice area. I will return to this hotel in August, and I will return whenever I come to Omaha.

The only reason I didn't rate the service 5, was because housekeeping didn't replenish soap, despite the fact that I had completely run out. Nor did they replenish sugar and powdered cream, despite the fact I reminded them to do so.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view out to Cuming Street.
