I reviewed JC Mandarin's a couple of years ago and have visited a several times since then. I have seen a clear and decreasing quality of service there. The owners seem to be resting on their past success. A few weeks ago, we stopped in about dinner time on a Sunday. While waiting for someone to seat us, we noticed a person at the front desk waiting to pay who was very upset that nobody was there. We looked inside further and found nobody around. There were only about 6-7 tables with people, half of who were done with their meals and just waiting.. Almost all of the other tables still had dishes from previous guests that had left. We waited for a while and finally left. Because we liked the place before, we hoped that perhaps they just had some staff no shows and were having an off day. We returned on a weeknight (Nov 13) and found that the place was almost empty again. Service was good though and our food came up in reasonable time. The food was good. While we ate, we noticed that no staff was around again. One family had let their 5-7 year old loose to wander around. The kid collected water glasses from multiple tables that were set, played with them for a while and then crawled from table to table on the benches. Finally a waitress came out and as she was returning, took all of the water glasses and put them back on the tables again and left for the back. This was the premiere place for Asian cuisine in Omaha and I didn't mind paying the higher prices for it. Now that they have become average, there are too many other average choices in Omaha.
