I have long been a fan of Hectors – both locations. After moving near the West location almost 3 years ago, it became a staple… visited once every few weeks. The margaritas have always been good, especially the El Presidente and the food has always been decent. The carnitas, homemade tortillas, carne asade’ (plate and tacos) and all of the enchiladas I have tasted were all really good. I have never considered this restaurant to be “authentic” Mexican food, I go elsewhere for that. However, I have always felt that it was consistent and I knew what I was in for when I dined. Lately this has changed. The food has been bland, the service slow, the restaurant temperature HOT in the summer and the margaritas watered down. Is this the Hectors I used to love? Disappointed but I will probably give them one more chance because I really want them to be good.
