I sometimes waver, but at least for today, this is the best sushi in Omaha. In fact, only a couple of others anywhere surpass it in my experience (one in Seattle and one in LA). This is an energetic (and frankly, noisy) place, but fun. It attracts a youngish crowd, but as folks in our late 50s, we still felt welcome.
There are four parts, the patio (crowded tonight on a rare cool July evening in Omaha), a main dining room, a bar, and a takeout section. The first three get noisier as you progress, but we still had a good time after being seated in the bar. The menu is twofold, the sushi and the grill. The latter has many good choices, with many salads, small plates and entrees. I normally gravitate there (great lettuce wraps and chicken dishes), but tonight we both did sushi. We started with excellent miso soup, among the best in town. (Actually, I started with a vodka straight up, since they didn't have cocktail onions to make a Gibson--sigh). Then the sushi. We had cabbage crunch, a veggie maki, and absolutely delightful. We also shared spicy rolls with smoked salmon, jalapeño, cream cheese and spicy sauce, also wonderful. We have met the sushi chefs from here and it's sister restaurants, and have had them in our home for parties. They truly know their stuff.
You will not go wrong here. Always delicious and delightful.
