No restaurant for dinner only breakfast. Wi Fi did not work, I have stayed at this hotel before and had same problem, asked why they had this problem again but did not care or suggest this would ever be resolved. Difficult car parking arrangements, difficult to get in and out. Generally poor service.

just 1-2 minutes from Bad Oeyhausen (not south) station on foot and it was easy to find it out. We went to MInden and Porta Westfalica and from here, these 2 areas are reachable easily by train. Hotel seems to be a bit old, but clean and we could feel warm atmosphere. Especially, the staff served for breakfast are attentive (especially one male staff, who remembered our favourite tea from previous day!). We will stay there hotel again.

I stayed at this hotel for the second time and next time I am in Bad Oeynhausen I will probably stay here again. The hotel is conveniently located a short one-two minute walk from the railway station in the centre of the town just by the bus station. They also have parking if you are travelling by car. The clientele appears to be mainly a mix of older people and business travellers which helps to ensure a good night's sleep.

The reception (which is also the hotel bar) staff are very friendly and helpful which was the same experience received in the breakfast room the next morning.

The rooms are of a good standard but the use of darker wood is starting to give them a dated appearance. Nevertheless I was not disappointed by the room which had a good sized comfortable bed, tv, desk, good chair to work from and a decent powerful shower (no bath tub if you prefer that). At least in the two rooms I have had, there are doors leading to a shared balcony (which also doubles as the fire escape). Complimentary toiletries were a nice touch which is becoming more rare at this end of the price range so it was nice to see they are still provided.

Breakfast was good with a range of breads, cereals, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, fruit salad, eggs, tomatoes and cucumbers as well as good juices and several different types of coffee. Some people have commented that the hotel does not stock the beakfast buffet well but while the options on the buffet were not piled high with food there was nothing that was empty. I preferred this hotel's method of replenishing the breakfast buffet at regular intervals rather than they have to throw away food or keep the same food for the next day.

There is an Italian restaurant just opposite the railway station, don't be put off by the somewhat old fashioned appearance as the food is good and the prices are very reasonable. There are also plenty of vegetarian options. The restaurant also accepts bank/credit cards which not all of the restaurants in Bad Oeynhausen do.

So, all in all a good night's stay. What went wrong? The wireless internet! Last time I stayed here in 2011 the wireless internet was chargeable and almost non existent in the rooms leading to my getting a refund on the internet cost. This visit I noticed the internet was now free to use which was excellent news. However, the signal was so weak in the rooms (my colleague in another room had the same experience) that it was impossible to work there. I did get a better signal in the lobby area outside the breakfast room but this was not optimal as I would have preferred to use the internet in my room. I hope they can fix this at some point but based on my experience in other hotels in Bad Oeynhausen, wireless internet really doesn't seem to be a priority for any of them.

Room Tip: I have always stayed at the back of the hotel, the rooms overlook the post office car park but its q...
