“Location! Location! Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

If you like dining in a great location, right next to the river, then dont hesitate. The location is the biggest asset of this restaurant. The fact that the food is good and surprisingly cheap makes it an easy choice. We are 'repeaters' and there's a huge choice of restaurants in l'Isle. Staff is professional, but dont expect to have a chat.

“Amazing Vietnamese food in a beautiful restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

We dined outdoors on the patio overlooking the Sorgue river at Le Saigon restaurant in Isle sur la Sorgue. The food was exceptional! We enjoyed a Vietnamese salad with shrimp and mango, a fish in sweet and sour sauce and a duck in spicy sauce. The dishes were delectable and the setting sooo relaxing and beautiful. Service was courteous - and they also have an English menu - good for deciphering words like "seiche" - which I didn't know (cuttlefish).

Very highly recommend Le Saigon!!

“The best Asian food in the region...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

Let me state up front that I disagree with many of the other reviewers. I have been a frequent customer at Le Saigon for more than ten years and for a good reason...the food is just awesome.
Location - a bit on the outskirts of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, hence easily overlooked by tourists. Yet the place is still around...hint...local clientele and repeat business...always a good sign. In the summer is is very nice to sit by the river Sorgue and having a good meal....(if you wonder why there are no ducks in the river....well...sorry just a joke).

Now to my main point...the food is exceptionally good. The restaurant is Vietnamese, and it combines the best of French and Asian cooking. Exceptionally fresh ingredients. A very good choice is "Menu Hue" for 23 euros from which I can easily pick my favorites "5 steamed dumplings"...and awesome choice...and the lamb in lemon grass. But there's a choice of 4-5 starters, 4-5 mains and desert.
The five steamed dumplings is by now a must-have starter for me. But my favorite main is the spicy (optional) seafood fondue, which you cook yourself in (spicy) coconut. With noodles, shrimp, scallops (noix-de-st-jacques), calamari, and more....an amazing large meal and even more amazingly value for money at 21 euros. This is the culmination of French and Asian cooking in my mind...but I am admittedly a seafood lover..

Winelist...good to okay....the by far best wine on the list is the Chablis Fevrier but it is quite pricy.

Service has been mentioned by other reviewers. Well, this is France...the value proposition is good food...not a Big Mac and an even BIGGER smile. The owner knows me by now, so even before I order my wine arrives in a cooler (...it is the most expensive wine on the list so he definitely has a self-serving interest in providing this service...). But seriously, the family that runs the place tend to be a bit serious and reserved at first but once you get to know them they can be just awesome.

Down to the summary....the quality (and creativity) of the food is exceptional - especially the freshness and the way they combine spices and ingredients. Location/atmosphere is very god, especially in the summer when you can sit by the river. Service is not always too cheerful, but again this is France and once you get to know them they are just great.
