Provence is magical from hillside villages, roman ruins, medieval buildings and people that are used to an influx of tourists, French and international. This 11th century monastery was our sanctuary, supported by new wonderful hosts Hugo and Chantelle, with old world character and modern facilities. The pool was the first port of call after a hot day wandering, a cold beer from the nearby fridge (paid on honesty system) and a catch up on the wifi to all our friends and family overseas.
Friday and Saturday was the BBQ and Michelin star chefs meal.
Breakfast was hearty and shared with all guests, who exchanged visit tips and local pointers, an occasional joke and lengthy discussion also took place under the grapevines in the old world courtyard. Lunch and dinner options are your own choice, and despite little opportunity to taste the local fair Chantelle could book the most beautiful fair at a local restaurant nearby.
In summary our international visit to Provence was made wonderful by the sanctuary provided by Hugo and Chantelle, their wonderful facility and perfect location on Vaucluse near major Provençal attractions.
