While accompanying my husband on a business trip to Las Vegas recently I had some free time to myself and decided to take a kayak trip with Desert Adventures. The tour began at the Hoover Dam and went 11 miles down river to Willow beach. We made about 5 stops along the way to enjoy a few hot springs, lunch and some spectacular scenery. I also learned some historic information on the Black Canyon and the Hoover Dam project. It was a fasinating experience. The tour was well managed by professional staff - from pick up at my hotel to drop off. It was all I could have asked for in a tour. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys kayaking.

We went to Las Vegas with the intent to do what everyone does there. However, we wanted to take a day trip elsewhere to check out what the Nevada desert had to offer. We booked a kayaking trip through Desert Adventures to kayak the Hoover Dam. Both my boyfriend and I were new to kayaking. A Desert Adventures representative called us a few days after booking the trip to ensure they had all the proper information and answer any questions. They were very clear on what clothing to wear, what to bring for the trip and water temperature. Day of the trip they picked us up right at our hotel on the Vegas strip and delivered us right back at the end of the day. The kayak trip began with an instructional and safety precautions and we hopped in and in no time felt like we were pros. The tour guide did a great job of briefing us on tidbit facts about the river and the dam. The visit to the hot springs was the best part of the trip. I highly recommend Desert Adventures to anyone who wants a nice break from the Vegas scene and enjoy a quiet fun-filled day in nature. The staff were extremely professional and highly trained. The view of the dam is much better from the bottom!
