The photos here are simply not of this motel -- there is no "ocean view" like the pictures, you look out on a factory and a parking lot. The actual Sourdough lodge is a decrepit, run-down motel of the kind that houses long-term parolees and the homeless. I don't know if the photos are a mistake or they are simply running a con (I suspect the latter). I booked 5 days here based on their fraudulent photos and a mistaken "3 star" rating on another site. It may have been 3 star when it was built in the 50's, but it is an utter dump now. Think old sheets tacked up to the windows for "shades," no air conditioning, appliances, furniture and kitchen not updated since 1973, drunken ex-cons loitering around outside, etc. I was shocked. Not only that, they pre-charged the entire stay on the first night and said I couldn't check out early. (I did anyway the next morning and got a chargeback on the credit card). This is NOT a place you want to get anywhere near for any price. How and why they are promoting themselves so fraudulently on these travel sites is pretty daring, because it is obviously a sham.
