I booked this hotel because of the affordable price. When I arrived around midnight (long flight) the front desk was full of friendly faces eager to answer any questions. We just wanted to have a good nights sleep in a quiet, dark room. When we arrived in our room we immediately opened the blinds. The view was incredable. Dozens of fishmen lining the river which was just a step away. We got a great nights sleep and woke up late. We didn't know if there would be any breakfast food left. To our surprise there was plenty and a nice man to help us make waffles our get us anything we needed. The hotel helped us with our unique schedule too. We stayed 2 night at the comfort inn and went north to Talkeetna via the Princess Tour Railcars. I highly recommend them. We stayed at the Mt. Mckinly Lodge for 2 nights and 3 days then headed back to the comfort inn for 3 more nights. I found 5 nights in Anchorage enough to tour the city and take a day trip to Seward. We rented a car, which was highly worth it. The highway to Seward was beautiful with many chances to see wildlife(mountain goat with babies, bald eagles, swans, etc)! When we arrived in Seward we had an idea of what we were going to do. It was a beautiful day so we went on a day cruise with a stop at Fox Island for dinner and lunch on the boat. It was well worth it. It was probably the most fun out of the whole trip. We saw everything imaginable. A humback whale came right up to the boat and explored it for 5 or so minutes. Almost everyone got wet from its spray. Killer whales swam under us and did flips right in front of us. Steller sea lions, harbor seals, puffins galore, black bear, sea otters, dolphins swam in our wake for a while. The staff said they had never seen so much wildlife in one trip. We were really lucky. The glaciers were an extra. It was amazing watching huge chunks come crashing down into the ocean. The sound was like thunder. I HIGHLY recommend Kenai Fjords Tours. The service was excellent!!!! Overall, our trip to Alaska was a big hit!!!!
