“Good overnight before flying home”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

This was a fine hotel to spend a night before our flight the next morning. Nothing fancy, just good enough. The restaurant had an amazing menu and my reuben sandwich was to die for. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

Thank you so much for your review! We are currently trying out several new dishes on our menu and I am happy to read that you specifically pointed out your enjoyment of our menu! The Reuben happens to one my personal favorites as well! Our team members do their very best in making each and every guest feel welcome and at home, I will be sharing your kind words with the entire team.
We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

Our party of 6, unintentionally ended up in Anchorage instead of Juneau, thanks to American Airlines. We arrived at dusk,11pm and were rewarded to a breathtaking sunset over the lake at 11:30pm.
The reception desk was bustling but we were taken care of in an efficient and friendly manner. The rooms were quiet, clean and the beds were comfortable. What more could
one ask for after a very, very long day? If we ever find myself back in Anchorage, we would not hesitate to stay again.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a road trip in Alaska in September.

The large hotel is on the main road to the airport (close by if you're flying in) and right next to Lake Hood, so a good spot. No noise issues for me despite planes taking off and landing.

However, the check-in was REALLY slow and the staff seem very unfriendly (they seem stressed with the level of work, and I think they had computer issues).

That said, it was OK - nice large room, with fine range of TV channels. Couple of restaurants on site - but again the staff seemed unfriendly, and harrassed.

The breakfast which we had there was good, in resturant overlooking the lake. (staff for breakfast seemed more friendly).

OK stay, but management needs to send staff of customer service course.

There are other choices nearby, so probably wouldnt stay there again

I was disappointed with this hotel. The biggest problems had to do with the check-in and check-out procedures. It took about 20 minutes each time, even though we were the only people in the lobby. Our room number was changed three times because the woman checking us in forgot that customers with dogs need a room on the first floor. On the plus side, she gave us a giant bag of complementary dog treats. Also, our room was very nice, quiet, and had an extremely comfortable bed. On the downside, the wi-fi is not free, and we used the credit card, but only got it to work for about 10 minutes and could not get a refund from the staff. The dinner was decent, but overpriced. Upon check-out, the staff did not have enough cash on hand to return our deposit!!! I I think I'll go somewhere else next time, even though I like the location and general ambiance.

We have stayed at Millennium Hotel three times now - each time it was what Priceline.com burped out to us. The first time went OK - the hotel was nothing to write home about, but no major problems. The second time, when I was doing the "once over" to make sure there weren't any leftover toys or special blankies, I discovered a pair of men's underwear under one of the beds (NOT ours). Extra pillows we called the front desk about arrived in the middle of the night (thankfully the kids didn't wake up). We also left our pricey Sonicare toothbrush behind by accident, and I immediately called when I realized it was missing. They confirmed they had it - but when we went to retrieve it, it had gone "missing." Then this last time, my 5-year-old discovered a tube of "intimate personal lubricant" under the nightstand (thankfully unopened, but it involved me saying: Go - wash - your - hands - right - now!). There is no free internet in the hotel (meaning a computer terminal) - and they have upped the charge for pets. So we paid $30 per night for our dog to join us - more than any kennel we have frequented in the past. On a bright note, because it's also the place where someone was recently offed, we were able to refer to it as "The Murder Hotel," and people knew exactly where we were talking about.

I enjoyed my 2 nights here. Very close to ANC, on active Spenard Drive.

Room was very nice, with big screen TV, nice bathroom and amenities.

Good bar downstairs with decent pub food.

Front desk very helpful. Free parking.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the lake with the seaplanes.

Although this was close to the airport, it is in dire need of a good cleaning and updating.
The staff were as helpful as they could be, but limited by the quality of this establishment.
I would look for a name brand hotel for a stay close to the airport.
