My family and I always look for budget accommodations whenever we go on vacation, but this was one occasion where we would've rather paid more money for some relative comfort. Now we're not the kind of family that needs a 4-star hotel, although it's nice if you can afford it. We just want a clean place to sleep at night and not have to worry that something is going to crawl into bed with you while you sleep. The room was dark, dingy, dirty and had a musty smell. We stayed in 2 different rooms the 1st and last night of our weeklong trip to Alaska. One of the beds in the first room was in such bad shape, it was lopsided, and I could feel each spring. Neither of the lights over the sinks in either room worked so we basically brushed our teeth in relative darkness, aside from the light from the bathroom. The carpets were grimy with holes in certain areas. The cheap wooden bathroom door in the first room actually had a hole like someone punched it. There was no point in having the kitchenette because they don't provide anything, not even a pot so you can cook water in. Even if they did, we wouldn't want to use it. I could go on and on about all the other problems we had, but I won't since it will take too long. It's a shame I have to write such a bad review for this place because everyone that worked at Mush Inn were polite and friendly, but the motel is long overdue for a renovation.
