Captain Cook Hotel was very helpful and more than willing to make sure there customers are pleased with their stay.

Was in Anchorage for a Convention with over 1300 attendees. My husband and 7 year old also traveled with me.
The hotel does not have air conditioning and beng from the south, that is uncommon for us. But we found that the windows opened and that cooled our room to the perfect temperature.
The king size bed was comfortable and the room was clean and fresh.
The staff was extremely accommodating. Concierge went above and beyond to hwlp us with rental cars, and attraction reservations.

It was rather warm in the room without any ac and no fans. We opened the window, but to get thru breeze the door to the hall had to be left open. That did not seem to be safe to us. Other than being uncomfortably warm, it was a nice hotel. It was just a let down after the cruise ship and the Mt. McKinley Princess lodge. We expected more.

This hotel is very comfortable, gracious service and in the center of the downtown action. There are a few rough edges (printing from your computer can be a challenge), but Alaska is the wilderness and this hotel is the best for business or vacation travelers in Anchorage. Easy to walk to many of the best restaurants. I am a frequent traveler to the area.
