“Smells great when you walk in the door!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2011

Nino's has great garlic knots. Each table receives a free basket of 6; the bad part is this is regardless of the number at your table-2 or 6 get one basket. I suggest ordering extra. One thing not on the menu is spaghetti with tomato sauce. This is preferable to spaghetti with marinara and only costs $10 for a huge plate. Enough for two servings-share or take home lunch! I also enjoyed their garden salad. It has an amazing house balsamic vinaigrette. Kind of an expensive restaurant; but when you look at the fact there are leftovers it's not that bad.

Service is fine. Not great, not bad.

The atmosphere leaves something to be desired. It was a cold time of year when we visited and you can feel the chill in the air. It's like diner seating in what should have a finer restaurant feel.

“Best Italian in Anchorage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2011

Great italian food, usually little to no wait, prompt service, and the food is out of this world. The rigitoni karlo and karlo's hero are two of our favorites.

“Huge Meals!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2010

We love going to Ninos. Every time we go, we leave with all kinds of extra food. The portions sizes have all been huge! Sometimes there is enough for two people to eat just one meal. And that's just the way I like to eat my Italian food. You get free garlic knots while you decide what else you want to eat. I've mostly had their pasta and I would definitely recommend the Bruschetta Chicken. The only down side to this place is that it is very small. And I mean small, like their isn't much seating and you are sitting so close to other people that you can hear everything they have to say. However, if you want great Italian food with big portions at reasonable prices, then check out Ninos.

“Big price, small portions”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2010

I was so excited to return to Nino's after having very good experiences there in the past. Tonight was such a disappointment, though! Uninspired salad. Chicken francese that tasted very sweet (a little like brown sugar), chicken marsala was OK. Pasta was extra. Waitperson was hurried and a little surly. Gabby girls carrying on in the next booth, although I don't fault the restaurant for its patrons' conversational overload. The booths are really close though, so if someone is loud and talkative, it is very apparent to everyone around them. About the price: Dinner for three with one glass of wine and with ice cream (the only dessert on the menu) for two was $94.50 plus tip. Youch!

“Huge portions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2010

One entree is more than enough for two! The garlic rolls were outstanding. My husband had the chicken parmigiana and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a little disappointed in the penne with broccoli, garlic and olive oil (with a side of Italian sausage). It didn't have much flavor and the sausage slices were overcooked and dry. My mother's spaghetti aioli was my favorite when growing up - maybe no restaurant could live up to my mother's recipe?!?
