“Bring Water”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Depending on the time of year bring plenty of water. The trails are safe of any natural wildlife but the scenery is great.

Anytime you travel the trails in Alaska make sure you bring Dete, and bear spray.

You never know.

If a moose travels whitin your proximity, DO NOT approach it. Look up Moose fatalities in Alaska and you will know why I say this.

Stay hydrated and enjoy your journey!

“FLAT TOP HIKE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Amazing hike! Locals made it sound like a nice hike but for someone in your mid 50's in good shape, it was a workout! Sights are great, trail is somewhat all over the place the higher you go. Snow and mud and some tough stretches to get through but worth it. Certainly an activity worth the time while in Anchorage.

“Very nice views and great workout!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Enjoy hiking Flattop, really recommend this, but make sure you take your time to make it to the top, you will encounter muddy areas, stairs, dirt, snow (even in June!) and a lot of rocks. If you are out of shape, take a acetaminophen after the trip and you will be fine! It is totally worthy to enjoy the view!

“Hiking Flat Top”

Great hike if the weather is good, provides excellent views; but think carefully about attempting the final steep rocky scramble, and make sure you wear strong footwear- you'll need both that and water

“Too early in the season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I went Memorial Day weekend, and the second half of the hill was icy-snow covered and very dangerous. Be sure and check local conditions. I still had a good time and would recommend it.
