“Felt sorry for the dogs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

I wanted to enjoy this, the mushers were very cordial and the dogs were beautiful. But the dogs in the sprint races looked unhappy and tired, lots of whining and pitiful sounds.

“Iditarod Head Quarters”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

There seems to be a mixture of both the race and the head quarters in the reviews listed here. We were at the head quarters in Wasilla where they bring tours from the cruises but you can go on your own and enjoy the same tour. They have sled rides for a fee in the summer, a movie in the gift shop that tells you about the race and the usual gift shop with sled dog race gear and pictures of the past Iditarod winners. We got to hold two sled dog pups before the ride and the movie and museum are free. It was an enjoyable hour and all our questions were answered by the friendly staff inside the head quarters.

“Mitch Seavey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We did a ride. This was a very fun place to visit. The staff was friendly and kind. The information was amazing. The dog sled ride (on wheels since there was no snow) was very interesting. The dogs had to stop often because it was warm. The driver would point out the "seasoned" dogs because they would immediately rest. The dogs still learning would look around and want to go, go, go. The whole experience was cool.

“Great attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We watched the very informative video, petted puppies and took the short dog cart ride. The ride cost was very reasonable though short. All in all, it is a great place to visit.

“Worlds greatest race!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Enjoy the ceremonial start in downtown Anchorage then drive the 50 miles from Anchorage to Houston for the official start the next day. It is a fun and an amazing experience.
