“Enjoyable warm meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

I've been to Orso's a half dozen times and the place is consistently friendly and aesthetically pleasing. The food is like the decor -- not fancy but inviting and cheerful. They can get overwhelmed -- we had one experience where we waited way beyond our reservation time. But the staff understood our angst, and rewarded us with free appetizers. If you like a warm Italian setting, Orso's is probably the best restaurant in downtown Anchorage.

“Better than Glacier Brewhouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2014

I like the menu here much better than at Glacier Brewhouse. The crabcakes are my favorite thing to order. Can't wait to try the crab Mac and cheese next time.

“Fun and Delicious before a show!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014 via mobile

The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are creative and the Service is great. They were very conscious of our evening theater schedule and gave us a great dinner and got us out on time. The caprese martini was delicious!!!!

“Loved the lamb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

Three of us went to Orso for dinner. This was our second visit in a month. The first time we had the seafood risotto, which was disappointing. The rice was overcooked. This trip we had a variety of dishes including the chilled seafood verde salad, lemon chicken panzanella salad, and "osso buco." The osso buco was a lamb shank, not cross cut veal shanks, so I was surprised they called it osso buco. Nevertheless, it was truly excellent. Probably the best lamb shank I have ever eaten. The chicken panzanella and the chilled seafood verde salad were also excellent. Their list of wines by the glass is not extensive, but suffcient. We had the Nero d'Avola, which was quite good at a reasonable price. Meal prices are comparable to similar quality restaurants. Service was excellent. All in all, I highly recommend Orso.
