“Love the atmosphere!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

Plenty of good high end restaurants in Anchorage to get dressed up for. No need hear, go sit at the bar or make a reservation for a table. I would like to see a better selection of sides and a larger salad but the steaks are great. Best in town? Probably. Better than others I've been to in Anchorage. For me it's all about expectations. Your in town for the work week and not wanting the high end customer entertainment atmosphere for the night? Yep this is the place.

“Good but not the best steak”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

My husband is addicted to filet mignon so this being touted as the best we finally went. First lesson, don't dress up. This is a homey dimly lit cozy bar. T-shirts, jeans, baseball hat, perfect. Service wasn't swift to begin with but improved and our waitress was nice. Food, I went in intent on the prime rib (still searching for a place that matches my old favorite) but was seduced by the daily special of NY strip stuffed with king crab and bearnaise sauce. Who can pass up steak and king crab? Both the filet and NY were plenty big but the king crab in mine was super scant (frown). The bearnaise sauce was good though. The best steaks we've ever had? No. Anyone who's good on a grill can easily match this, but the flavor was as good as a steak off your grill.

SO bottom line? If you like the homey cozy bar feel the atmosphere is good. Food is good, but not "the best we've ever had." Prices, well the steaks are big so it equals out in comparison to other restaurants. Nice for hanging out for a beer, would like to go back for lunch and try a burger. If I can get my husband back. ;)

“Great steak”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

A simple steak place, a dark type of restaurant- classic steak, and good food. Worth going to. The blue cheese stuffed fillet is a favorite. The staff is attentive, and the food is delicious

“Excellent Steaks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Came in looking for a great dinner and found it. I had the Petit Filet and Snow Crab Legs, and can say I could not have been any happier. Capped off with a few of Alaska's finest brews and it made for a very nice dinner. The hardest choice is deciding which amazing dish to eat first!
