“Big, Beautiful Home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

The B&B is in a large home on several acres of beautifully landscaped grounds about 10 minutes out of Anchorage. The home is filled with fabulous artifacts and artworks that the owner has collected over the years. Our bedroom was comfortable, and our bathroom was assigned to just us, but down the hallway. Breakfast was excellent and our host was very nice. Our only negatives were a slightly musty smell, probably from dated carpets, and the lack of room darkening curtains. But the positives far outweigh the negatives, and we'd definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Bathrooms are privately assigned but off the hallway. The exception is one large suite upstairs whi...

Pleasantly surprised with gorgeous gardens and beautiful home with Alaskan artifacts and art. My room very comfortable, as was the bed!! I was exhausted and needed to rest before trip home and return to work. It was the perfect place to relax. I should add the breakfasts were delicious, waffles one morning, French toast another... Fresh fruit, coffee .. I highly recommend for a stay in Anchorage. I plan to return to AFG B & B!!!

During our vacation in Alaska we stayed in 5 B&Bs. Frontier Gardens was the highlight of our vacation - it was awesome. The B&B was beautiful, immaculate and our hostess "Rita" was wonderful. She made us feel welcome, was full of helpful information and her breakfasts were excellent. This place gets an A+. And if you're lucky enough to be able to reserve the suite, do it cause it is beautiful.

We stayed in the Ivory suite, which is an extraordinary accommodation, large and with an oversized whirlpool tub. Breakfast is extensive with everything you want. Unless you do not prefer to stay in the downtown area the Hilltop district is the most beautiful part of Anchorage, very close to Chugach State Park.

Room Tip: The extraordinary Ivory suite is definitely worth the money.

Jon and I came in very late as our plane was delayed but the room key and information was waiting for us as promised! We had a great sleep - beds were comfy and the bathrooms are amazing. The next morning, breakfast was unbelievable! We also enjoyed meeting the other guests and socializing before hitting the road for Denali. I wish we had had more time to stay and enjoy this gem. The grounds were gorgeous and the home is welcoming and warm. The friendly dogs met us on arrival and saw us off - as fellow dog lovers, we truly enjoyed the dogs and couldn't believe how well behaved they were! We'd like to come again sometime - hopefully in the fall instead of early in the season. Jon and I want to say thank you for making the start to our trip so relaxing and giving us tons of information to help us on our trip. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, and the price is so affordable - don't waste your time and money on hotel because you won't get this type of hospitality anywhere else!

Room Tip: We stayed in the fireweed themed room - fantastic sleep and the windows open to allow fresh evening...

My husband, daughter and I just arrived home last night after spending an amazing week in Alaska. Our stay in the Garden Suite of Rita's B&B was great. It was our home away from home. Every morning started off with a delicious and filling breakfast. My personal favorite was the banana nut pancake. Yum! Rita always had a little something extra for us to add to our day each morning as we would talk with this very friendly host about Alaska and our agenda for the day. The dogs are so quiet and friendly and were Always there to greet us when we would come home. We loved the location and didn't mind the ten minute drive into Downtown Anchorage. It was very easy to get around if you have a car rental. We hope to get back someday and stay with Rita again as there is so much to do and see around Anchorage. Thanks again Rita! Room Tip: We had plenty of room in the Garden Suite for my husband, 20 year old daughter and myself. The bathr...

My bride and I booked the Ivory Room for our week in Anchorage. Our first impression upon driving up was, "Wow!" The grounds were lush and gorgeous with lots of flowers. There were two friendly dogs ready to greet us as well. Pictures of the Ivory room did not do it justice. We looked forward to coming back each night to sleep there with its comfortable bed and great shower/bath. The jacuzzi tub was quite large and comfortable. Breakfast each day consisted of a variety of fresh fruit, meats (including reindeer sausage), and a classic entree'. Each morning was something different. The pancakes were AMAZING! We found our host quite knowledgeable of the area and Alaska in general. This bed and breakfast was one of the highlights of our honeymoon, and we hope to return someday.

Room Tip: The Ivory Room is worth the splurge if you are looking for romance.
